No guarantee on Holden vehicle production in Australia in the coming years

After Holden manufacturing plant job cuts were announced, Mike Devereux had some things to say about the future of Holden in Australia, one of them which I didn't wanted to hear....

Announcing 500 job cuts at its Adelaide and Melbourne plants, managing director Mike Devereux said he could not guarantee the company would be producing cars in Australia in the coming years.
But it seems like it's coming down to that. Looked at a chart showing Holden vehicle sales and it's been steadily declining, due to all the other great cars getting imported into the country and more.

This could be bad news for the future of the Chevrolet SS, unless General Motors decides to take over production and keep these vehicles in the cycle.

Camaro moves to the Alpha chassis to be shared with the ATS.
Hopefully, the SS moves to Alpha as well and they all get built in the states.
I shouldn't have to buy an IMPORT to get a decent Chevy sedan.

(They all NEED tp get DCT and AWD as options)

Good point. It would be much better on GM's alpha chassis, it'll make for a much leaner Chevy SS.

Holden shutting down in Australia may not be that bad after all LOL. We just need more intel on GM's intentions on the SS, how long they plan on keeping a performance sedan going for, and maybe even performance objectives.
