On Thursday, I had stopped for gas and to meet a fellow B-body wagon owner to deliver some parts, on my way to Bradenton for a family visit and then on to the annual Daytona Spring Swap Meet & Car Show on Saturday (it DID rain...but the sun came out later).
I'm minding my own business, the two of us are chatting, and I notice this car exit on the same SB (I-75) ramp that I had just taken, but the car turned east--all I noticed was it had a rear spoiler on it that I didn't recall seeing on the Gen5 Camaro previously.
A few minutes later, the car is back, and pulls into the same station where I'm still chatting with my buddy, who just happened to have his new I-phone handy.
Here's what he caught in his digital device's memory:
GM employee (Matt) on his way to St Pete for the Indy Car race. The Z had "regular" Michigan plates, and he said it was part of the "GM captive fleet", used for shakedown/feedback, etc.
Also said it was an absolute beast, and the brakes were un-freaking-real--just remember this car has nearly race-ready rubber, so that is part of the braking performance, too.
Full production run is supposed to start this week--if production is limited, that shouldn't take long, as I'm guessing they're ALL pre-sold.
Nice front shot showing the soon-to-be famous "flowtie" emblem!
By the way, this car was early production - VIN/Serial No. 3
