if you want loud/power and to spend around 2500, headers. If you want something that'll open up the engine a little more, SOLO Axle backs are great for being louder but not ear bleeding loud without drone and being quiet when you want but loud when you want also, I have them on now and I just ordered KOOKS headers system because I have moved on from the axle backs!

have been looking at the solo axle back. it’s on the top of my list now. that, or the borla s type mufflers. just looking for something now to make the cars presence more noticeable and for personal enjoyment, how loud would you say the solo axle back is 1-10? was hoping to do something medium until next spring when i plan to make the jump to headers.

I'd say maybe a 5 they arent much much louder than stock but they are well made no drone cause the J pipes. Great product I can send you some videos on instagram if youd like

sent you a dm dude, thanks
I went with Stainless Works 2” headers with 3” collectors and high flow cats into 3” pipes and x-crossover that connect into the stock mufflers on my 2014.

congrats and welcome. i love the sound my JBL headers and X pipe create i have stock mufflers because the bimodels are awesome. personally Kooks is top choice but really they all do what u want but kooks quality is great and haven't had no problems with JBL either. Definitely be based on your budget. Best of luck color looks nice

I would do a Solo cat back with the Cyclone muffler. It by far is the best sounding Solo product and I would put it up against anything out there for sound quality. I should know as it’s the 4th Solo exhaust on my car!! I started with the Solo Axleback, then moved to the Solo Street Race cat-back, then to the Solo Mach-Shorty cat-back, and now to the Solo Cyclone cat-back. The Cyclone makes all the other Solo exhausts sound like a truck.

Yes, I’m Goldilocks of exhaust systems. It’s just right as of now with my high-flow Solo cats. However, adding long tube headers would probably be too loud for me with this setup and bring me to use the Mach Shorty muffler again.

Something to consider, these are coated, and bolt up to stock exhaust, and currently in stock...

I agree on that, imo Solo Cyclone is their best sounding cat back exhaust system. I have heard all their other series & all sounded hollow. I went Cyclone without hearing it in person & have No regrets at all. Definitely a way deeper tone with no drone. Cruising & idle is tame but WOT she is loud. By far best mod I've done so far. Can't wait to hear how she going to sounds once she comes out shop after Kooks LT, ZL1 torque converter & tune.

All three Solo setups are here:

As always, it’s really hard to hear the difference via a phone.

Solo is not exactly the most refined sounding just fyi. Its literally a muffler delete with added "j-pipes" to take care of most of the drone. But the sound is not for everyone.

Borla axle-back sounds great, although quite pricey (I had the Touring version).

14-15 stock mufflers sound very good with a longtube system attatched to it.

16-17 bi-modals do not appeal to me personally. Quite raspy especially when headers are added.

I had a full Solo 3" system with Kooks headers and it sounded pretty good. Not crazy loud during normal driving. Very little drone. But at WOT it screamed.

Im currently running a Varex adjustable system right now. As quite as stock when closed.

So, how'd it turn out? I'm trying to decide between mach and cyclone as I write this. lol

I say go with cyclone, I had them on my SS and loved it. IMO the mach sounds kind of hollow as to the cyclone its a nice deep tone with no drone and at WOT its loud but not obnoxious. so it just depends on your preference
