What was the installation like?? Any problems?

 

No issues with the install, Josh sends them pre drilled, so you just have to drill under the bumper and use 1/4-20x1 Bolts and washers.

 

So you do not have to take the front end apart to install??

 

Is it fairly strong? I like it, but I can't help but envision it color-matched to the car. My SS is white, so maybe it just depends. I fired FB so I can't contact the guy.

 

I was wondering the same thing about color matching to the SS. I would appreciate if you bought one and had it painted white so I can see how it looks. THANKS:grin

 

Are they 16-17 only? Or is there verified fitment for 14-15?

As far as strength, One guy who has one hit a racoon on the highway, he was doing 80+ and it did not do anything to the splitter accept give it a small scuff, it did not crack or anything.

He also ships these in gloss black if you do not like Carbon Fiber, as a FYI

I have no idea who the genius was that hit the racoon......... but I hit that fat SOB (30lbs) dead on and that splitter saved me from a helluva lot of catastrophic damage. I still had to replace the bumper and a/c condenser. But not having the splitter would have exploded the bumper.

These are the ones that I've seen guys on Instagram bashing due to failing clear coat and just overall poor quality. Any issues like that here? The pics I saw looked pretty bad.

 

I am considering this splitter and have not seen these videos or stories or one in person but if someone has experience with them please speak up! Do they look as good as the pictures? How is the finish?

 

How much lower is it than stock? I have a small curb in my garage.

 

You also need to consider approach angle when transitioning onto a steep incline. I'd love to have one, but my driveway angle is already at the max for stock height, even when approaching it at an angle.

After seeing these, I just had to get one! They look amazing and should have mine within a couple of months.

 

Saw some pretty horrendous pictures online of this splitter. Might want to check the SS FB groups and IG accounts out there.

Do you have to remove the bumper to install this splitter and if so, is there a 2015 Chevy SS tutorial for bumper removal you can link to?
