cost probably. the heartbeat system is over $10k right now. plus hennessey has used this design enough to know they can warranty it and not have any issues where as the new stuff they cant be quite as confident because they have no experience with them.

I'm just trying to figure out why the Camaro ZL1 with comparable HP/Torque ratings went to the 6L90 transmission while the Hennessey version still using the lower torque rated 6L80 which I believe is standard in the SS.
e.g. is the max input torque of the 6L80 @ 440 ft lbs not as critical as the output rating of 664 ft lbs? The engines torque rating must be somewhere in the 500's.
Just trying to learn a little.

With the proper calibration a 6L80 is an extremely durable transmission. We actually have a few cars that run bottom 10's on a stock 6L80 with our transmission tuning. The inverse is true as well though, tune it wrong and it will break at stock power levels.

Gearing, 5th gear is our hot gear, closest too 1:1.

GXP's are geared the same?

Top speed (Governor limited): 148 mph

Governor off: 155

Back on topic, SuperSleeper is def out driving around ruining peoples days right now.
Actually, the 6L80's closest gear to 1:1 is 4th, rear gearing and overall tire diameter is near identical to a GXP, and I personally have never seen one of those lose a driveshaft, regardless of MPH.

I'm thrilled to hear more about this car. Equally interested to know how it holds up.

So have the figured out why they are unable to go above 163MPH when every other G8 that is geared the same can do more than that (with the proper tune)?

Otherwise, nice!

Technically this #001....and its For Sale

If you have $65K laying around you can have one too.

Chevrolet Other 4 Door Sedan | eBay

They fail to mention they topped this puppy out and already hit the track multiple times. But hey, who ever buys this thing probably won't care.

If this guy really has serial number 1 and that ebay ad is correct, they are both serial number 1 and this guys car is the one they used to test?.... And it's for sale....?

Scratch that, in the item description it describes serial #1 corvette stingray... Odd...

I looked again and they are selling a Hennessy SS but in the description it's talking about the new corvette, that's where I was confused... My bad

Actually, looking through the pictures on the ebay ad, it has a plaque showing 001/100 as well...

I'm just saying something isn't right here lol...

You're right the serial numbers are for the build site not the total production. I call bs on the rwhp numbers, just saw the apparent synopsis for mine and it made 475 to the wheels, with the same kit. One month late on 11 hour build that was scheduled to take 2 weeks. Complete B'S. I'm thinking about taking and ad out in Dupont and Hemmings to shame these fuckers. How can you build a 1.5-2 million dollar car and you proven that you can't even do a short block rebuild? They claim they have a deal with Auto Nation, that will be a huge heartbreak for several customers if it is true. Can you imagine waiting almost 7 weeks to get a car you just bought.

Congrats SuperSleeper. That's an awesome car! I am picking up my PBM SS today and it will be getting the HPE475 upgrade in a couple of weeks. I didn't have the bucks to go 600 but would have if I could. Enjoy it, and buy stock in your favorite tire company!
