Well SS had 46 miles on it this morning first out since bring it home.
Got everything set up but cell phones waiting of wife to do this hey it's her car. Car handles well still messing with memory and having some trouble with it. No reports on gitup go yet to few miles like the quite ride. My z06 and hearing aids equals a lot of whistling.
This will make my 13 hour drive to N.J. easier on the wife I like my Z06 but she wants to lay down and snooze. Woman would not make it as a pioneer wagons were to small for all her junk.
Love the car want to get some mileage on it oil change and alignment done than nail it to see what happens.:)

Headrat's '65 Pro-Street Chevelle

I've owned her for 44 years. Was a 283 4-speed true SS with a factory installed trailer tow package. Look what I did to it over many years of changes. Now it is a full round tube frame former drag car just been put back on the street. When she was 350 lbs. lighter and on alcohol I went 8.94 @ 151mph. Now the stack injection is Fast XFI 2.0 EFI. It has a 4-speed Lenco clutchless trans and I run 4:56 gears with 32" tall tires. And I can make smoke!!!! Enjoy---

alignment? why would you do that on a new car. no alignment in the world could ever duplicate the factory alignment, that's the last thing you would want to mess with unless needed to or had any suspension work done

Because it's been tied down for 2 months
And I had g8 that the tires were ruined because of that a few vetts and 2011 Camaro and a 2013 Camaro. So at my age I have experienced it all when it comes to thousand dollar set of tires 65.00 is cheaper.

idk. they all rely on someone sticking they're head in the window and eyeballing the steering wheel and then hoping the tension rod holding it against the seat doesn't budge. the best equipment means nothing if that's not perfect. i've never had one that was the same as factory no matter how good the garage

I'll second this!

And a nice set of Michelins will run about $1200 for the hoops alone.

If you have ever seen the ramps and the inside of a railcar it's like a drive on lift with flanges. I've seen tires on one side that have been scraped/damaged by the drivers running up against them and tires that needed replacement because of shipping damage and alignment way off because of it.

The railcars use fancy chocks not chains now but still banging against the chocks (railcars are kinda rough riding) doesn't do the factory laser alignment any favors either.

My 2009 Yukon (that GM bought back but that's a long story) was out by a fairly large amount and they hold an alignment real well.

Doug,

For the memory settings, this is what you do:

1. Set your desired seating position and mirrors position
2. Tap and release the "SET" button and then IMMEDIATELY after tap one of the 3 memory buttons
3. If done correctly, you should hear a "BEEP"

Hope this helps! It took me several tries!

Also, after your memory settings are set, if you are switching from one memory to another, you have to hold the numbered button (1,2, or 3) until the seat/mirrors stop moving. Simply tapping it will not work.

Hi Headrat (Jere), now that's what I call a motor in your Chevelle! Meticulous workmanship & I know you built your own frame too, also several other cars in your shop. All pretty amazing stuff to me. Can't wait for a Go-Pro ride! Hope that new silver SS is in the garage real soon.

This is a downfall to the seats to me. My 2013 Acadia is one click and then the seats and mirrors all move to the correct location. No need to hold it. Small complaint.
