The Motor State Challenge at Gingerman raceway was a fun event I've competed in the last couple years. The 9th annual challenge happened there last weekend. I would encourage any SS owner who has some track experience to check it out. People even drive in from the east coast, and pro-ish drivers fly in from all over the US to drive the manufacturers cars. The cars and people are really cool, I overheard 2 of the track workers saying that this was their favorite day of the whole year.

The challenge is a 3-day event, but I only competed in the one track day at Gingerman raceway in South Haven, MI.

The cars are pretty seriously modified, most are V8's supercharged or turbocharged, many of them also compete in the Optima search for the ultimate street car events. Most cars (90+%) are trailered there.

It was nice that my stock suspension and brakes SS was able to turn in competitive lap times. I was on Michelin Pilot Super Sports, 245/40/19 and 265/35/19. There is a min treadwear 200 rule, so most cars were wearing the sticky Potenza RE-71R's or BFG Rival's.

That looks like a lot of fun with a huge variety of cars! The poor SS looks like it's wearing such narrow rubber compared to most of those cars that have 315+ rubber stuffed in the front and rear.

Good observation, life begins for most of those guys at 305+ width tires and 650+ HP.
