Trying to wire it in, but having trouble figuring out which wire is power and which is switched power. Here's a couple pics of the wires:

Not as easy as the G8.
Need a wiring diagram! Crazy Paul you out there?

I posted this wire location some time ago. I've only had my car for 5 weeks so not tooo long ago. I will look for it. It's here on this forum, honest. I think it's a thread dealing with radar detectors.

I referred to a 'gray'wire. It is actually the lavender wire as shown in your picture. My eyes were tired that day and the lighting not too good.

Got it. Didn't read far enough down. Thought it had been done before.
Gave up on the wiring and decided to get the mount done and realized they sent me the wrong one. Between that and the rock in the windshield, its been an interesting day.

There is a 'trigger' or 'tab' that locks the harness to the mirror. You must have the mirror hanging free to do this manuever. This tab must be manipulated to release it from the mirror. Then you insert the Blendmount Mirror Tap wires into the appropriate locations. I outlined which wires to use in another thread--post #42 in "Radar and Laser Detectors" in our 'Electronics' section. I found that filing the 'dagger tips' that are attached to the Blendmount pigtail to a sharper point makes insertion into the backside of the mirror harness bundle easier. Please read all the pertinent posts in this and the other thread. You will not be able to re-attach the cover over the mirror harness unless you modify it to clear the detector pigtail.

I left the cover off mine. No big loss.

Headrat - thanks! I finally got it wired. Man, getting that harness detached from the back if the mirror took some work but I finally got it. Your wire diagram was exact and it powered up and everything is put back in place. Thanks.

Glad to see you got it working. Noticed you are in Maryland. I spent my first eleven years in Sharpsburg, Md. just south of Hagerstown. 1947-1958.

GXPayCheck -- Do you have a quick pass for the toll road? Does the placement of the radar detector with the blendmount and the quick pass conflict?

No quick pass here. Good question though!

Which length mirror tap works best. Looks like there is a 9" and a 12" available. Going to be running a V1

I used the skinny one. Use whatever fits.
