i posted some info on these on another thread as well as in a facebook group but though i would give it its own thread incase someone was interested.

brief cliff notes:

people whom think the G8 exhaust is the same…. sorry to say it is NOT. They did test the G8 exhaust on the car but there were issues.

1. on the front pipe the Spread was off by about ¼ inch also the rotation was different.

2. the hangers are in different spots.

3. the Mufflers and Tips out the back were also 6 to 8 inches lower then the SS’s it didn't sit right.

Dyno numbers before exhaust were 365/368 new numbers were 377/385 a decent TQ number!

more pre-production images here if any one is interested: www.facebook.com/groups/ChevySSPerformanceSedan

NEW Updates:

US production ones will probably be with just one tip on each side. this is only speculation though. they wanted to use the car longer to prototype for the AU market. thus using a "dual tip" over a "single". i personally had a request that they do duals on my regardless. thus using a single IN muffler to single OUT into a y pipe to a "fake" dual tip.

the thing was we both agreed that the y pipe fake Dual Tip OUT didn't look very good. so it will now be a single IN and full dual OUT muffler! again i do not know if the production one will be offered this way in the US but it will for AU.

below is a photo of the change in y-pipe dual (bottom photo) to true dual tip out (upper photo)

i will update more next week.

I personally like the "FULL Dual" out muffler as it looks more Stout/Beefy for our car..The Tips even look better as they are the Slash Cut styled over the Rolled Cut tips..(The Single Out to Dual Tips doesn't look right and weak...)..This car deserves the Stout Exhaust (top photo) so I sure hope you tell them to offer to USA or peps will buy from AU and import them!:)

I'm thinking a set H/F cats and a resonator delete with the Magnaflow cans would make a very good sounding system. Would probably pickup around 25rwhp without a tune to boot ... I'm in !!!

Here is to hoping they keep the true dual outlet mufflers... and bring it to market SOON!!
i will make a case with them when i see them next week. but if they do that then i won't have a one off exhaust! :p lol!

@Maverick Man -- Since you have dyno numbers, do sound clips of the new exhaust exist?
i do have a phone video clip but the quality is very low with horrible sound. when i get time i will do a HD one. over all the sound is very x-pipey. for those of you whom have went from a H to a X you know what mean and how it changes the sound... so it is very euro sounding. also way deeper then my GTO sounds with Magnaflows. if you are expecting a raspsy sound like a corsa... it will not sound like that. personally for this car a raspsy sound is not what i want, i don't want obnoxious. if i want obnoxious i'll get in my other car with chambered mufflers thank you very much! ; )

i do not think they will be coming out with a high flow cat system for this. i only say that because they said they would probably run way to hot and just destroy itself and not last very long. this was an option for myself and they said they would see. but when they got to it they decided to not mess with them. possibly a second cat delete maybe an option for an off road system but that is my own speculation. as far as the resonator from talking with people i feel they might just leave that there due to too much drone without it. i will discuss that with them when i am there again.

i do agree on the rwhp pick up. i think with even long tubes a good tune with the right intake and maybe a ported throttle body you might get some really decent numbers. i would love to get my car tuned now but i do not want to waist the money if i go FI soon!

The dual exit mufflers look amazing. I'm not a big fan of the "fake" quad tips, they don't look right. If they're only going to offer the single exit system in the US, I guess I might have to look elsewhere (even though I know SS parts will be a niche market). I'd rather keep the stock tips, which is of course a solution, but buying something just to modify it doesn't make much sense.

Good looking exhaust other wise, the dual exit mufflers with those tips just make it perfect.

Hey Maverick Man

If you don't mind me asking, what was actually replaced on the exhaust system?
Did they cut after the secondary cats or replace them with new OEM?
Did you put back the stock resonator or replace with new. (Looks new.)

Looking at the Dyno printout on your Facebook, looks like 3 different days of testing with various results. Were changes made between these test and what were they? (Looks like maybe 3 things were done to make changes.)
2/18/14....Run 001 - 365 HP / 368 TQ
2/18/14....Run 002 - 375 HP / 377 TQ
2/21/14....Run 012 - 367 HP / 366 TQ
2/21/14....Run 013 - 388 HP / 386 TQ
2/24/14....Run 014 - 388 HP / 394 TQ

I'm really interested in seeing what the final product on offer is. Everything Mav posted about the sound etc. really make me think this is the first and next mod. I've never liked raspy exhaust, apparently this is nice and mellow (deep), plus it looks awesome, assuming they offer it with the same mufflers as pictured here.

Are those numbers with a tune or stock? If stock that's good for a muffler job.

NO tune

runs 001 and 002 were baseline STOCK

run 012 was the first set up which consisted of all stock cats, xpipe, high flow resonator with single in single out muffler with Y Dual Tips

run 013 and 014 (15 mins apart) consist of first STOCK cats, no second cats, high flow resonator with single IN, dual OUT muffler. other mods were with K&N drop in filter, RotoFab G8 Intake Tube only and Ported Throttle body. this was also with NO TUNE. with a tune i do not see why on this dyno it could pull 400 easy to the wheels. over 400 with long tubes and no cats.

after discussions with them and internally themselves.... it will be what i exactly have, just with second cats. they will offer the real Dual outlet muffler! they did not want to use this muffler at first because it is a better flowing muffler and they were afraid of drone. but it wasn't an issue.

but yes i can confirm that this exhaust is NOT Raspy it is a deep sound!

do know that STOCK mufflers are Chambered and with the stock H pipe that is the reason why they sound the way they do.

here are some other photos of the exhaust

staggered tips!

high flow resonator

jbend to X-Pipe

inside of the secondary cats check out how small the cells are. but do note, they told me this is a very High volume cat so removing them probably won't make "that" much of a difference.
