Love bugs have arrived in Cape Coral with a vengeance. Does anyone have advice on the best way to protect the finish and effectively clean the bugs off the car?

As much as I miss living in SW FL (born and raised in FT Myers till I was 25), I will never miss the love bugs!

Good luck in your quest to keep them at bay. I've been curious about the clear bra for my car for Rock chips, etc, I wonder if that would be a viable option for love bugs too?

Bugs will stick to the bra as well. Secret is to keep the finish slick and clean it regularly.
I like Adams Quick Sealant. Keeps a good extra layer of protection on the car.

I have my front end, mirrors, rocker panels, half hood, and rear lower quarter panels with Clear bra-Xpel, on both cars...Plus use nothing but the product that starts with a Z. Never had a problem getting love bugs off, and having no paint issues with my 08 Z06 or my SS...

I went on a road trip with my SS yesterday from Cape Coral to Miami and back. It was around 11am on my way to Miami and there weren't many bugs, however driving back home at 10pm there were tons of bugs on the alley. However I didn't hit many love bugs at all, I washed the car when I got home and it was mostly small bugs - not the super messy love bugs.
