My first post here. Hello!

I've been tracking this car since it first was announced. Had the opportunity to drive one a couple of weeks ago and really like what I felt. This is a neat car.

Currently, I'm driving a '13 Subaru STI but am looking to make the jump to a V8 more family friendly car - this is the perfect ride for me. I loved the G8 and was a huge Pontiac enthusiast for many years. Street legal rally car to Corvette decoy; yep, I'm ready!

I have two questions for you:

1. Is anyone aware of whether Chevy does offer or will offer the SS designed by Jeff Gordon that they brought to SEMA last year? I'm a huge NASCAR / Gordon fan and although I would love to have a tricked out Gordon-themed SS, I really love what he did with the satin finish and 20" wheels with the red highlights. Very sharp looking car. If it's available, I'd buy it tomorrow.

2. Is there any reason I should consider waiting for the 2015? I did just read about the manual option; and as much as I would love that (I've had sticks for 8+ years) my wife doesn't drive a manual and it's time to give in.

Thanks -- I'm looking forward to lurking around here a little more and researching my future SS...

Not to mention the auto will still shift faster than the manual and everyone will be crowing again in a year or two when/if the eight speed comes to the SS.

MRC is nice but **** expensive to repair and will jack the price by several thousand.

Welcome to the forum DoctorWho! Chevrolet does not currently offer a Jeff Gordon replica and as far as transmissions, remember; if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!
Thanks for the welcoming! Curious - is there any rumor or speculation on whether or not they will productionize a limited edition of that replica for 2015?

It's higly unlike an exact replica will be built by the Holden factory, however the Rims from the showcar do exist on the HSV in Australia and I think Maverick on here has aftermarket wheels that are of a very similar design.
I'm still waiting to hear if other colours will be applied to the SS. Trial colours have been sent down the production line for the Holden variants and really see no reason why other colours can't be offered.

Oh and welcome to the forum,

Regards,
Mark

Dr Who,
Welcome to the forum. I don t know about the special JG SS but here's an alternative. Jeff has a Chevy dealership in NC and I ll bet if you put a deal together there you could get Jeff to personalize the dash, etc. how cool would an autographed version of your SS be. That's a One-off car if there ever was one

Good point! I forgot about that. Even the Aussie ads had a 'Remote start auto only' written.
