It finally stopped raining so my plan of the day vacuum
,wash. Anyone beside me hand there SS. Got vacuum done start on wheels don't use acid do it by hand.
They are a pain by the time I did all four back kicks out. So no car wash laying down in bed. Pain meds muscle relaxers need to find kid to do wheels.
Any process's that others use besides acid wheel cleaner.

I just use micro fiber towel and same auto shampoo that I use for the car. With these wheels having a clear coat, I treat it the same as the paint on the car.

Are you sure that's ok.
Am I sure it's okay to use a micro fiber towel and car wash on the rims?

I'm running polished CTS-V wheels on my G8 and have been doing this with no ill effects. CTS-V wheels are polished forged aluminum with a clear coat. I have to believe that the SS wheels are setup the same way. I can't think of a more gentle approach to cleaning the wheels than this...

I use a foam type glass brush with the same soap I use on the car, and a fire type hose sprayer for rinsing. I normally rinse the wheels down good to remove most the brake dust, then wash them last with the same soap water used on the car. I have a leaf blower I use to dry the wheels and engine bay after washing.

Both my Camaros have Polished wheels, and the ZL1 is the biggest pain to clean with all the nooks and crannies. I clean them, then five miles later they are all dusted out again.

I'd wash that car for you, just for a ride Doug!

When the wheels aren't extremely dirty I use Mother's Wheel and Tire Cleaner, works really well, no scrubbing required. Oh, and it's non-acid as well.

When I really want to keep the wheels clean, I use car shampoo and Armor All Wheel protectant afterwards, works pretty darn well!!!

Amen to the ZL1 wheel comment. I have the polished 5 spoke Z wheels on my 2010 and I've never spent so much time cleaning the wheels. No matter how much time I spent they never seem completely clean. BTW I use Adam's Wheel Cleaner and Adam's Detail Spray 100% and it gets the job done without scratches using one of their fluffy microfiber towels.
