I just picked up my Phantom Black Metallic SS with sunroof and spare tire. This really is an awesome vehicle in every regard. Michelin Pilot All Seasons will be going on tomorrow as the summer tires and winter temps are not a great mix here in NY. It's about time Chevy had something in the stable with 4 doors, and big V8 and the appropriate wheels being driven. I owned a 2006 Trailblazer SS and been long hoping for a new version of that beast. This may not have all wheel drive or as much utility but it's a much better driving experience and the interior is leaps and bounds better. Can't wait to get some more driving in. I'll post up some pics once the sun is up tomorrow, although being as there aren't any appearance options, I think we all know what a black SS looks like. Now, how long until modding starts...

Pathy....we don't care if we've seen a hundred pics of a black SS...we wanna see yours :)... we want MORE pics...and we need videos too! lol...no one posts up any videos :(
Beleive me, when my Silver beauty comes in, there will be video!! I'm already getting my shopping list ready for "GoPro" stuff. We will take "sane" video in the SS then "insane" video in my 'other' SS, namely my former drag car now Pro street '65 Chevelle SS. Just stay tuned----

I just spent the afternoon waiting for my all seasons to get put on. Just my luck, when I got there, I had a ton of people waiting ahead of me already. So now it's getting dark and the car is dirty from road spray. Tomorrow should be warm, so a quick wash and some pics hopefully.

Doug, it definitely does seem like a good group of people here. Definitely a much better group than I ever found on the BMW boards when I drove a 335. I look forward to the community growing and becoming more active once the cars start hitting the streets and vendors come out with new products.

Thanks, not bad for iPhone pics.

Nice!

Has your neighbor with that fancy schmanty ragtop been over to check it out yet thinking it was a 'bu or Impala?
He's not really into cars, he just commented on it being a nice car. He also has a new E350 Mercedes. More of a badge guy than a car guy.

How do you like the SS drivers seat versus the BMW 335i seat. Did you have power side bolsters in the 335 BMW. I've driven the 335i, just as the ATS 3.6L. They are lacking power that a V8 has. Good luck on your nice black SS ... nice smooth V8 power, not turbos etc. Regards

Nice Black SS for sure. What was your MSRP if I may ask? Looking at trading in for a black sunroof/spare tire SS as the good looking machine you have. Thanks in advance.

I noticed your garage looks kind of small, how is it getting out of your SS as you finish parking it in the garage? what vehicle did you have in it before?
The garage is currently being used for storage as I am prepping the house for sale. It is plenty big though, it's a 1.5 car. Probably just the angle of the pics making it look smaller. We've had a Suburban in there on a regular basis in the past, with room for all 4 doors to open.

I would say the seats in the SS are comparable in comfort and support to the 335 sport seats. I have also had Recaro seats in a JCW MINI and find these to be better than those. I don't have enough seat time yet for a full conclusion but I am extremely happy with them so far.

MSRP was $47,170. I definitely say go for it. I've had 15 cars in the last 12 years including BMW, Audi, Infiniti and others. This is by far the best car I've owned. The BMW 335 was a great car to drive but it's small, unreliable in turbocharged form and gets more overpriced every year.
