Hi all!

I live in Salt Lake City and just placed my order today. I am curious, now that they have already released the cars, how long I should expect to wait. I have been told by my buddy at my local Chev dealer that once they receive their Black one that is inbound that we can search nearby dealers for an inbound Green one.

What are your thoughts? I am very picky and don't want their lot techs to drive my car prior to purchase. I work at a Honda dealer and know what happens when a youngin gets behind the wheel of a monster......

Hey Jared, congrats on your order & welcome aboard! I also ordered a Mystic Green car on 9/18. It was built on 11/21 but hasn't yet shipped from AU. Some here ordered their cars a couple months before me & they have just recently been built, go figure. Let us know how it goes with your order. You probably know Mystic Green is called Prussian Steel in AU. Been lucky enough to see a couple Mystic Green SS's & think you'll really like the color.

Welcome Jared sounds like your dealer has to allocation to fill your order. If you truly want one you need to find dealer with allocation. Mid December a ship will be here with
about 1000 SS's hopefully. Now when they are released to carrier your dealer might locate one for you. But the catch is will the dealer do a dealer trade or you planning on calling the dealer that has the car and making your deal.

Welcome Jared !!! The one thing to remember is that some dealers are greedy and only think of impressing the public that passes through their showrooms. Take for example, my dealer. The General Manager sat on my order for 18 days in early July so he could get his dealer stock orders fulfilled and placed. My deposit check sat somewhere on his desk all the while he was telling me "you are in the system". Only problem was that General Motors didn't know I was in the system. Now I will not see my car in the states until late January and in my garage in early February at best. This has been what is going to be a six month mess because of greed. If your dealer can hold a "dealer stock" car to your liking for you, you will probably get it quicker. By quicker I mean maybe three to four months to stateside. Remember shipping from Australia can take up to 7 or 8 weeks, but usually 4-5 weeks, and then rail transport to your area. Good luck!!!

As far as I know dealerships are done taking orders for the 2014 MY as of this past week. I am not sure when they will begin taking orders for the 2015 MY. As soon as I know anything I will sure to let you know.

I still don't know why cars are being ordered when they are just sitting around at every dealer that I've seen. Everybody's got 3 - 5 of them, including us(3). I'm not going to order one, when I'm ready I plan to just walk up front with my trade and down payment. But, I will admit, I did have to dealer trade for the "exact" one that I wanted, both times...Still, I got the car the same day.:2cents:

I just viewed a Prussian Steel Grey SS today in a dealer in Houston. I like it quite a bit and may in fact get that color unless a darker grey is announced for MY 2015.

Doug, im assuming they have the allocation..... They stated that the Black one they ordered LONG ago would be mine as it was unclaimed still. When it arrives, if they can find a Green one and can persuade the dealer to trade it, then I can have mine earlier. I just realized that I typed the same thing you explained LOL.

Part of my attraction to the car is that I can be one of the very first here in my state to have the car. I like to be a trend setter and never a follower. Having said that, I may settle for Black in the event that I can't locate a trade willing dealer that has a green one.

What are the names of these dealers? If the cars don't have any additional smog equipment to satisfy Cali standards, i'll have my dealer call and see if they'd be willing to trade our inbound for one of them.....

Lone Star Chevrolet, Houston, TX. They have one in stock! It arrived on the same trailer mine did the day before Thanksgiving.
