At the end of this years NASCAR season Jeff Gordon will of run a Chevrolet Stock Car for 21 consecutive years at Hendrick MS. So Naturally Chevy asked Jeff Gordon to customize one Chevy SS to be displayed at SEMA this year.

Mods are pretty tasteful and minimal, CF spoiler, bigger brakes, Borla performance exhaust, perforated suede interior, embroidered headrests and a flat bottom steering wheel.

Not to mention those wheels....

I agree with Hail This, they should have done something with the hood, but besides that, looks great. One other thing, I would have left the lower grille stock and just blacked out the chrome surround.

Somewhere on our forum there is a photoshopped picture of a silver SS with nostalgic black SS stripes on the hood. That looked nice. Mine might be going straight to my friends shop for that treatment. He has done several new Camaros with hood treatments and they look great.

That satin red is sexy!

Like the wheels much more than the stockers too. I wonder how long until Borla releases that cat-back to the public?
can't be too long, they've already got tons of dev work into the G8 system now just adopt it for the SS. Surely we start seeing performance goodies before Christmas...

From looking at the underside pictures of the exhaust system that was posted here.

The axle back is not the same as the G8 (Holden VE) as it does not have the bolt on rear mufflers. So that part is not a swap like the MagnaFlow for a G8 was on my 2011 Caprice PPV (Just had to cut & extend the tips).

I am sure that there will be some companies making a system for the SS, but also looks like any good muffler shop can just cut and weld anything you want on. Including dual tips with some Flowmasters or MagnaFlows.

OH, HP Tuners likely already has programs for the Chevy SS or will make them available soon as they already support native Holden cars. They do currently support my my Caprice, so that is the tuner I am looking to get soon.

I have to ask...
Is that a pair of MUFFLERS on the back and a Single RESONATOR/Muffler on the front?
Saw one muffler companys performance system refer to the rear pair as RESONATOR MUFFLERS with an XPIPE up front. My Charger is just 2 mufflers and 2 resonators and many performance systems delete the resonators. I know I'm a novice.

I have seen the exhaust system on the SS up close. There appears to be a crossover chamber just behind the trans. Both bank pipes enter the front separatly and exit the chamber separatly to the rear. Don't know if this is a chamber or a cover for a true X-pipe. Darn thing sounds great as it is. Won't be sneakin in late, that's for sure!!
