I voted yes because I really like how it looks and think it would sell well. I would still get a 4-door for my purposes though.

Alas GM doesn't have the Baubles to let Holden put it into production. If it sold even half as well as the GTO did it would boost plant volume nicely. For the 3 or so years left on VF. They could get it to market in < 18 months too I reckon as Monaro took about that long from concept to production.

I'm the odd man out here but I'm going to admit that I voted no. It looks too much like a Pontiac GTO and I doubt Chevy would build one, as it would compete with their Camaro. As a matter of fact, it basically would be a Camaro with a different body. A nice concept but unrealistic IMHO.

This isn't a Holden design. Holden allowed 2 of their junior designers, in conjunction with an independent design firm, access to their computers out of working hours.
A couple of young blokes playing with the boss's computer to further their design skills.

coupes

I liked the coupe 60, and would purchase a coupe ss over the sedan ss as well, only when the aftermarket offers a more appealing fascia.
It looks too ricer and very much like the Hyundai Genesis grill.

I preferred the coupe60 styling over this as well. And why they use silver for both IDK. Use a color designers!!!

It looks like that ChevySS mouth should have the Fonz saying Ehhhhhh!!!!!.

I love the chevy SS front end, i think it's a great design but there can be improvements made to it. I would like to see what a mid-cycle refresh will look like, but i doubt we will see any renderings any time soon

If you ever get a chance to see the Coupe 60 in real life, you would understand why they used the colour they did, it's like a liquid metal silver. It is the only time I have ever truly loved silver on a car.

call it the CHEVELLE, please. But it all seriousness if they were to build this as an SS coupe how badly do you think it would eat Camaro sales?
Good point, I doubt it will do much harm. Yes they will probably build as many of them as people want, but I think the Camaro has it's own dedicated following that won't let go of it that easily.

That is true but an SS coupe would fall into an interesting place in the Chevy lineup. Lets assume an SS coupe gets built and is retailed for a flat $50k as most makers are charging a premium for coupes. An SS coupe would arrive with the same 6.2L as the sedan version although we would likely see it hopped up to 430hp that the Camaro sees with the 6.2L.

But this is where it gets interesting a Camaro SS will start at $32,600. Meaning an SS coupe would actually lose sales to a cheaper priced and nearly identical Camaro SS.

Or maybe Chevy gets brave and gives us a supercharged SS coupe along the lines of the CTS-V, that would likely put out in the 530hp range like the CTS. If Chevy goes that route than the SS coupe is positioned right on top of the $54,350 Camaro ZL1. Granted if Chevy was to supercharge the SS coupe it would retail for more than $50k flat, but interesting when you look at what is floating around in Chevys lineup...

Even better, an SS coupe would fall into competition with the Corvette. You can get yourself into a base corvette for $49,600 and it will come with the same 6.2L and a similar 430hp. Now its unlikely the SS coupe will steal sales from the Corvette, but the Corvette will definitely steal sales from an SS coupe.

If you could get into an SS coupe or a Corvette with identical engines for an identical $50k which one are you going for? Im going Corvette everyday.

I believe that is enough incentive for Chevy NOT to build an SS coupe. IF we can come up with this logic on a lowly forum i expect the highest echelons of GM to be able to stumble into a similar conclusion. But hey we can always pray for incompetence and bad math...

Check out these beauties i stumbled upon over at GM Authority..

They're SS coupe renderings but based on the last Monaro

And of course an SS Nomad version as well

You know what, if Chevy plays their cards right and pulls heavily from the ATS' development they could entice 4 series shoppers to hop into an SS...
