Bottom of the oil pan states made in USA. Not sure who had their hands on it last.
Same motor, no cylinder deactivation.
Bottom of the oil pan states made in USA. Not sure who had their hands on it last. The size of the engine in the SS is the same as the standard Vette engine. However, the sticker on the Vette says made in USA while the SS states made in Mexico. Other than country of manufacturing, are the engines the same?
Actually the automatic (L99) had AFM, I remember because it sounded like **** when it engaged. AFM was not available on the manual transmission.Standard Corvette engine is now LT1, with AFM (cylinder deactivation). Not sure where it's built.
Standard SS engine is LS3, without AFM. Made in Mexico and perhaps other locations. LS3 never has had AFM.

Vehicle Engines Introduction
Go to right side of page, select 2013 or 2014 product guide--states all specs, including build sites, for each engine & transmission.
Window sticker for vehicle contains country of origin for specific major components (engine & trans) and provides "domestic content" information, but I don't know if that's a US-only rule, even if a vehicle is built in one country then sold in another--in other words, in the case of the SS, does "domestic" content mean for the country of manufacture (Oz) or where it's sold (US, in this case)?
No one ever mentioned Stingrays or LT1's either. The LS3 had AFM in the auto Corvette grand sport as well as the auto Camaro SS (select years). Not sure what your trying to grasp.well I didn't mention L99...and no reference was made by OP regarding Camaro variants.
that said, you are accurate, however, LS3 (standard in SS sedan with auto) is not L99.
