LOL, nothing new there...I remember when I bought my C6 Z06...GM advertised the car as you can race the car at the track and drive home...Yeah right...I know a guy who was refused his warranty because there was excess tire rubber in his rear fender wells by the dealer rep...Said he was racing...LOL, no Sh*t the car was advertised that way...Bone stock motor, no tune...GM refused to pay for bad tranny...cyncros were bad

Just really surprised that there is acknowledgement by GM that owners might use this car for such purpose(s), and then actually offer more than "it could void your warranty"!
If they do add the Manual trans you will get launch control to add to the esperience.

You know what's even funnier, is that the VF SSV Redline was launched here on a race track and Holden admitted some owners would use it for motorsports hence why it has the Brembo brakes.

Haven't looked at the newer Owner's Manuals to see if the same info is still listed.

Reason for posting on this thread is this article from Autoweek:
Does your new-car warranty cover a part failure if you take the car to the track

Sensitive subject for me. Went in for warranty work on my stock '01 Ford years ago and had the remaining warranty cancelled after they found autocross results for me online. Ended up being a simple vacuum leak with a $10 fix (found it myself), but I'll never buy another Ford product again due to the way I was treated. Worse part was that I'd already been in a number of times for the same issue and I suspect they just cancelled it to avoid a potential lemon law case.
