Has anyone looked at the inside of their wheels?

The service manager at my local dealer is claiming I ran over something and scuffed up the inside of both my wheels, and that is why my steering wheel angle is off and the alignment was off.

I know I haven't run over anything. I had them show me, and honestly it just looks like machining marks to me. I should have taken pictures while I was down there.

Frankly, I feel like he is saying that to not cover the alignment under warranty, but then he says he will cover it "this time." Never mind the fact they thought my car was in Impala and aligned it as such.

Anyone even remotely informed of where these cars came from and the journey they took to get here with the loading and unloading twice on ships then onto rail cars then onto trucks should realize the obsticles they ran over, the ramps, etc. before the customer got the cars. All these transport changes had the potential for damage. And for your dealer to use a front drive alignment spec is call for you to contact Chevy Customer Care and file a real serious complaint!!!!

Good point, the more hands it goes through the chances of damage to happen goes up like crazy.

Not far off at all, a couple thousandths make a difference though. Looking at the current wear on my tires, you probably will get a more even wear pattern on the contact patch for daily driving with the impala specs. Might even hook up better on the dig. Just sayin..

All...Just had my tires rotated for the first time (5450 miles) and the wear is great!! Since the balance was good I also decided not to re-balance from the factory since no vibrations were noted..The car does handle better after tires swapped from side to side? So when it comes to steering and tire wear I must have been one of the lucky ones! No complaints!

Hi Tarnath,

If you would like us to look into this situation further, shoot us a PM with your VIN, involved dealer, and contact info.
