If the weather lets up drove in rain first time today waiting for clear warm day. I hope it's soon want to try it out it's been growling to get out of it's cage.

If I recall, your original concern regarding the alignment was with steering wheel centering. Did the shop move any adjustments, or just verify that all was well? The steering wheel centering on my car is about 15 degrees counter clockwise (anti clockwise for the folks down under). No pull in either direction, just the steering wheel alignment. With 150 miles on the car so far, it seems to be a bit less pronounced than when I picked it up.

No no changes were recommend at this time said to let suspension settle down for 15000 miles or so. My steering is just a touch off. Didn't want it messed with unless it was necessary to correct it. I supplied the specs provide by customer service on this forum.

Just an interjection from an incorrigible lead foot :

Although still advised by the owner's manual, a break-in on an engine is substantially less important on modern engines than it (hypothetically) was on engines of 30+ years ago.

So for those of you who couldn't resist flooring it in the first 500 miles, don't lose too much sleep over it.

Break in is essentially peace of mind for the anal owner nowadays. Engine assembly and clearances are surgical. When your car rolls off the assembly line completed, there's a set of rollers, they hammer that thing. The last thing they want is for you to get that red hot 2 step child that grenades itself upon delivery.

I'll still follow break in procedures all day, and not go by the oil life monitor as suggested, which depending on your driving style, will have you changing your oil every 15,000 miles...

As it's been said for years now, this is an LS3, you wont hurt that thing.

Start hanging mod's on her and that's a different story.

I've seen more than my fair share of this and it still happens to this day: A couple months ago a sierra 5.3 with <1000 miles came in on the hook and was getting a COMPLETE NEW motor. Still shiney new inside, outside and underneath! Yes it took almost a month for the motor to come in and yes all the accessories fuel, electronics, sensors etc. had to be swapped out.

As the old saying goes S**T HAPPENS!

The break in is more for the trans, rear and brakes than the engine.
