Not sure about lower specced Holdens but the Calais V and SSV have ambient lighting to my understanding and it lights up with a soft hue in the storage bin forward of the gear lever from memory.

I will have to go to my dealer Thursday night ( they open till late ) and see if I can check it out. I have seen pictures posted but that was a couple months ago.
looking at a couple interior features I can see how Commodore and Impala could merge to become a single model in the future. Similar guage cluster, the A/C vents in the dash centre look remarkably similar.

Too bad the SS only comes in Monochrome interior. The Impala interior is pretty nice.

Just another small downside to us getting a rebadged Aussie vehicle. But at least this is one of those things we can add ourselves with a little know-how and the right bulbs.

Besides, they did it right on the GTOs, and we haven't seen as nice an Interior since.
