It's a weekly ritual of mine to check the official Chevy SS page for updates, unfortunately there wasn't much aside from what i copied and pasted below.

Check out its Ecologic features. Here at Chevrolet, we believe in being a responsible steward of our environment. We’ve developed a way to communicate some of the environmentally significant features of each vehicle we make. We call it Ecologic.

Every aspect of Ecologic is audited by Two Tomorrows, an independent third-party sustainability auditor. To learn more about Ecologic and the Two Tomorrows process, click here. (it wasn't clickable on Chevy's website)

Fuel-Saving Technologies
Electric Power Steering uses an electric motor instead of an engine-driven belt, resulting in a lighter overall workload and better fuel economy.

An electronically controlled six-speed transmission allows the engine to operate at a lower rate of speed as compared to transmissions with fewer gears, which results in better fuel economy.

Low-mass materials, such as an aluminum hood and decklid, aluminum knuckles and control arms, and low-mass high-strength steel in the body, reduce engine workload and contribute to better fuel economy.

Responsible Manufacturing
The Silao, Mexico, engine facility is landfill-free. This facility uses a process to reuse, recycle or convert to energy all waste created in its daily operations, which conserves resources.

End-of-Life Recyclability
After the vehicle’s useful life, 85% of it is recyclable. The majority of its components can be broken down and recycled, which conserves resources and reduces landfill deposits.

What I don't get, is why there are reports/rumors of a gas guzzler tax for the SS. Ecologic technology and gas guzzling are not synonymous. I do hope they don't have a guzzler tax.
It will. It won't make the mileage requirements mandated by the government so it will be subject to the GG tax. Don't worry though, full size trucks will get worse gas mileage and they don't have to pay. Really fair system set up we have isn't it. :(

FWIW; sadly, on the order sheet my local dealer sent me a copy of, the "Gas Guzzler Tax" box was checked
