Does anyone know how many 2014 SS Chevy plans to build? And how many they have sold so far?

We'll inquiring minds want to know we have no way unless chev tells us. Vins are useless since they include AU units in the numerical part of the win. Part of vin tells it was a chev built in AU and the motor is ls3 they don't have would need all vins AU and SS to sort out.

Well at least until the 2015's (if they do them) get to the US just add up the monthly sales and get a friendly dealer to do a nationwide inventory search after the last are built for the '14 MY. I think you can still do a nationwide inventory search but its been awhile.

There shouldn't be many unbuilt orders left .... Mine was ordered 10-23 and built 12-13 and it on its way.....

Totally unofficial, but very interesting (All data from Autotrader search this morning)
Current # of SS listing Nationwide: 473
Black 297 62.7%
Red 62 13.1%
UNK 31 10.4%...
White 40 8.5%
Silver 35 7.4%
Green 8 1.7%

Also consider that 179 were sold in November 2014. Not every car will end up on Autotrader either, so it's just a rough guess.

Only less than 600 first shipment in Nov. and less than that second shipment.

People on the fence need to buy now because there is no federal income tax sales tax deduction for vehicles purchased in 2014.

My understanding is all of the 2014's are already built so does anyone have the final numbers yet? I am dying to know that and my cars born on date. It was built in August but don't know when.

Tag between front and rear door drivers side B pillar and under hood next to air cleaner on strut tower. Or have dealer pull order history and that will give a date later than the tag on the strut tower.

Both say August but no day, trying to figure out how early my vin is though.

Cars.com shows 1236 for sale right now in the US.

665 Black
38 Green
87 Red
116 Silver
195 White
145 Other (seems to be a lot of Red Hot and some Black)

If you figures sales are
Nov 178
Dec 239
Jan 232
Feb 283

932 Total Delivered to Customers.
1236 on lots
= 2168 in the US, plus whatever is left on the way, probably another 1000 or so ??? They certainly aren't built to order right? Not like Chevrolet first advertised, 90 days from order wasn't it?

If they keep selling at just under 300 a month I think they would hit the 3000 units a year which was the speculated goal for the model.

not every car in dealers inventory will be on cars.com either.

I got a plan to get total MY2014 production ... but won't have it for a couple three months.

The way the numbers jive up it looks like cars.com is pretty close to a complete list.

Look at the VIN tag on the drivers side inner fender. It has a date. Mine is Sept 14. Purchased Dec 4
