I would really love to see the Chevy SS getting some love from Hennessey Performance one day, especially after seeing what they're doing to one of my favorite cars, the C7 Corvette Stingray...

Right now, the 2014 Corvette stands at 460 horsepower with a 0-to-60 time of 3.8 seconds. There's no official word yet on more powerful variants like the Z06 or ZR1, but if you're already craving more power, John Hennessey and his team of mad scientists in Texas have got you covered. P
This morning Hennessey Performance unveiled their C7 Corvette upgrade program, and it looks to be suitably insane. First up with an October debut is the Hennessey HPE700, which they say will "pre-empt the factory ZR1" with an Eaton supercharger, custom CNC-ported factory cylinder heads, proprietary intake and fueling systems and a retuned ECU that push the output up to a whopping 700 horsepower.

You get lots of other optional goodies too, like an attractive carbon fiber bodykit and 10-spoke wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The HPE700 kit can be installed on your C7 for $18,450. P
But wait, there's more! Hennessey says they have a whole lineup of crazified Stingrays on tap, including the HPE800 and HPE1000. Those pack twin-turbo engine upgrades that boost the car to 800 and 1,000 horsepower, respectively. For the more bargain-minded among us, there's the naturally aspirated HPE500 and supercharged HPE600 as well, and Hennssey says all components that comprise their HPE complete cars will be available individually.P
I can't wait to see what other tuning houses, as well as Chevy themselves, have to say in response. Begun, the Stingray Horsepower Wars have!
