Has anyone noticed a shake or shimmy on the hood. I'm wondering whether this is normal or signs of a pending problem we're going to have to deal with.

what kind of speeds are we talking about? I've gone to triple without noticing anything weird, but it's possible that I may have been focused on something else as well.
Normal speeds

While driving on awesome uneven roads here in chicagoland, you can see the center bulge of the hood slightly move up and down with the bumps in the road. I am assuming this is because its aluminum. The hood itself is stable and attached. Watch and you will see it yourself.

Maybe it shakes more than a STEEL Hood since it's an ALUMINUM Hood? Just a thought!:) ..I do like when sitting at the light and the car shakes a little..Normal and quite cool for our LS3 motors!

Same here, I haven't noticed anything unusual but will be on the look out.

I did not know the hood was aluminum. What else on the car is aluminum versus steel?

Its not like the hood shakes a few inches or anything, you just see it shimy a little while briskly driving or hitting crappy bumps in the road. Something aluminum hoods do, if it were steel, there would be nothing to see. Now the OP may have another issue, but this is what I noticed on my car and on one of the test drive cars back in February.
