Yes you are correct. The Assembly plant is in my backyard just about (3 minute drive from my house). It's a pretty cool facility with The Commodore sedan, ute and sportwagon in various configurations RHD/LHD. The LWB Holden Caprice/Middle East Caprice/ Chev PPV. And the second model line runs the localised version of the Cruze sedan and Hatch back.
VF is locked in untill 2016 however with all the bickering since the news broke Monday between different levels of Government and opposition parties. There's a Federal election in September so will be a circus with the local media being so negative about the future of Automotive in this country with stories like Commodore is dead. Falcon is history and so on.
No patriotism here for keeping icons like Holden and Ford ( there are even reports coming out that line workers are being abused by the general public ) That make me ashamed to call myself an Aussie the supposed land of lending a mate a hand. To give a bloke a go
Everyone wants high wages but cheap cars. Probably similar in your country with people always bemoaning Government motors crap. And wanting cheap stuff.
I Sincerely hope I am wrong and that Automotive manufacture can survive in this Country.
