Yeah, I love my G8 and am sometimes thankful for the automatic but I really wished it had paddle shifters. Plus I was hoping to go for a manual with my next car. I really might look at a Mustang sooner than later b/c the Boss 302 is calling my name.....

In the end it's hard for me to justify spending probably $15,000+ with a trade in of my GXP on this car for basically interior upgrades. Now, I'm not saying that the interior isn't a HUGE improvement over the G8's b/c it undoubtly is, but I just don't see me spending that kind of money for only interior improvements.

Nice find ! Not sure is Autoblog have broken an embargo on images though. Seems early.
I think I had read somewhere else that the embargo was set at midnight. Autoblog usually doesn't break embargos.

Yes I know the SSV can be had with a manual, but the press release says auto only. I never thought I would do this but I might actually have to email GM about how disappointed I am. Hey, it worked for the BMW M5 and the US gets a manual version and Europe doesn't.

Not seeing a "four door corvette," language used by GM earlier this year. Was really hoping for LT1 and a manual.
Maybe next year?

Wow, 415HP!!! Are they serious. No Vette engine!!! C'mon Man. Really disappointed. The car itself looks great with a nice interior, but no evolution under the hood? The future 8 speed SRT twins are looking pretty good now.

The car looks great, and I already knew the LT1 would not be in the car for 2014. MY '15 is what I am waiting for. Orange, lowered, wheels, tint, and I am set.

In my opinion it will come.

If you were unveiling a new model with existing technology (for the most part) as the 1st gen release you would not necessarily reveal the next gen straight away, because you wouldn't sell any units of the initial release. I suspect they are doing this to get their ROI on the LS3 and associated components within the car.

I would say the next generation will come probably 2015/16 model years under the SS umbrella, but that is just a guess. Maybe even quicker. I suspect they want to give the new corvette some runway first before they introduce the real "four door version".

I agree the LT1 with manual transmission is truly the "four door corvette" and not the LS3 with automatic with many existing components carried over from the G8/GXP

Like any business model, wrap the existing technology into a new product with fresh marketing and a new badge to maximize ROI of essentially technology used in existing models, then later come out with the truly new technology under the same badge

Again just my opinion
