So I just installed a Whipple kit on the car a few days ago and got the car up and running and took it for a couple test drives. Then this morning I went to leave for work and the car won't start everything has full power even tried to jump it. I just got a message that I need to service power steering, drive carefully. So I popped the hood and sure enough the power steering belt somehow popped off and was a little chewed up. I bought a new one popped it in the car and it fired right up. Drove to work and ran a quick errand on lunch it was behaving as expected. I plugged in an OBDII scanner after parking at lunch and checked for error codes, none. Fast forward to 5pm, went out to car and tried to start it and nothing dead again same error about power steering so I popped the hood and checked the new belt it was there and looked good. I jiggled the tensioner to make sure all was well and tight, got back in the car still nothing. Turned it off and put my tools away and tried one more time, viola it powered up and no power steering message. BUT I was not getting a message about vehicle security disabled and not working. I drove it home and it drove fine save the security message. Parked it and came back out 10 min later, tried starting it up and it fired right up no messages everything great.
Two hours later I came out to see how it's doing and see if there was something physical wrong I could see and things look normal. So I plugged in my MyCalibrator tool from Livernois to read the codes if any and it gave 1 DTC P0513, searching it came up the immobilizer key failure. So now we have a 3rd error in less than 12 hours. I can't even turn the car on enough to try and reflash with the MyCalibrator. Where do I begin? Has anyone seen this one before?
I've seen the multitude of threads on the power steering issue and I don't think this is the same thing 1 since my vin is past the fix date and 2 min happens only when the car is off.
