Thanks chevypwr for the welcome! Through my reading around here so far you seem to be one of the more positive leaders/posters.
Yes I am a G8 owner. I bought my 09 GT back in April of 09 brand new. 62K on the clock right now. I have slowly progressed my modding to bolt-ons, wheels, and visual cosmetics. I dyno'd 351 rwhp with my current set up, and its my daily driver. Best car I have ever owned. Perfect mix of muscle and practicality. No major or even mid range repairs to date. Holden/GM got it right. The L76 is a strong engine and really responds well to modification.
As for the SS, I'm not sure I will be buying one. Never say never, right?

But seriously I am really disappointed with the appearance. It reminds me of a Caprice bedding down with a Malibu. Very bland, nothing cutting edge, nothing catchy. As for the engine, the LS3 is a bit of a let down. Great engine, hands down. But why not throw an LSA in it and call it a day? Why make owners immediately have to modify in order to hit HP numbers to keep up with comparable competition? I understand that GM will NEVER create a vehicle that surpasses the Corvette in performance, but that doesn't mean they cant spec it from the factory a smidge under the Vettes numbers, amirite?
I still have a genuine interest in the SS. I look forward to learning more about in the days/months top come. If anything I think its great to have another cool cousin out on the road. Fingers crossed GM doesn't lay another turd with the SS!
Here is my PBM G8 GT...
