I had a senior moment and forgot to post this ....

When ordering my SS Wednesday evening, we tried to uncheck VK3 - License Plate Front Mounting Kit in order workbench. It was checked by default which is opposite the usual case. On other models it is only forced by default on ship to states which have front license plates. I'm in PA only rear plate and it would not uncheck.

So every SS will have in the trunk the VK3 - License Plate Front Mounting Kit.

If you don't want it put on during the PDI get on your dealer guys!

some dealers won't let the car leave the lot without one. so yes you need to get one them about this unless you want holes in your front bumper!

It was the oposite with my G8. I live in Texas (2 plate state) and they did not install the front mount when I purchased the car. I'm glad, because I mounted it lower than the usual location and I'm sure some others avoided mounting it all together.

Well I kind of hate to even mention this as I don't want to jinx myself but, California is also a 2 plate state, but even with 95k miles, the mounting kit and front plate are STILL in the trunk of my "94 Impala SS since new :hope:
The kit is specific to the vehicle bumper and DOES require drilling holes :frown:

its not just that.

they may install it by drilling two whopping holes right into your front bumper

WHICH SUCKS

sometimes you can find other ways to mount it without drilling.

just gotta be creative.
