My wife Lupe, and I had a great time at the 'New Owners' dinner last night. There were over one hundred people in attendance. This dealer network does this once every quarter. It was kinda like a business casual brunch, lunch buffet. Well put together, great food and probably "Dexos 1" certified. They had reps there from GM warranty, parts and service. And they introduced their NEW General Manager. I wonder if my bitter communications with the General about the FORMER General Manager had anything to do with this. The former GM was introduced as simply the sales manager. And I burned holes through him when he saw me looking at him and would not make eye contact. Then we all took a tour of the big shop. There are three shops at this location. They had all sorts of repair work in progress that we could look at. And they had many new cars there for prep work. And they had there second black SS there all ready for display. I asked the shop manager, without telling him I am now an owner of the silver one, if they cleaned up ALL the new cars this well. He said "we have to to please the customer". Then I dropped the bombshell. "Do you remember the Silver SS from last Friday?" "Yes", he said. "That is my car". "OK", he said. I said "what happened to mine that made me have to finish cleaning it?" He said "we were rushed to get it out". I told him that it was apparent that my car sat outside all night because of the dew. That's were the conversation ended and he started talking to someone else. My sales guy was not there. He is a great understanding person. But everyone above him is, well, not invited to my party, so to speak. Then they had an air bag demo!!! They set off a steering wheel bag in the parking lot. WOW. I know they wil protect you, but you won't be able to hear for a while!!! We see them go off in crash tests but not the sound. Very interesting. Gotta go find some place to go in the "Silver Bullet" as Doug calls it. I like that. Didn't "the Lone Ranger" have silver bullets???

The "Lone Ranger" indeed had silver bullets. Congrats and my jealously continues! Hoping to hear something soon about my SIM status.... been at 3300 a long time like many others. Dealer is a "swing and a miss" proposition so I've reached out to a couple of other resources that may have better access to information. So some pictures forthcoming of the SIM beast in the West?

The biggest deterent to buying a new car = the Dealership:mellow:

My SS purchase experience had me baffled..... That dealership(Can't say MY dealership)had plenty of time to clean my SS but, didn't bother to think to do it until after I responded to one of the MANY stupid surveys I keep receiving. They wanted me to drive it back in so they could "Detail" the car, even offered a loaner till they finished......"NO THANKS," I no longer trusted them to handle any car of mine.... I just expected BETTER not more, just BETTER when spending that much $. I chose a Chevy Sedan(my first chevy)over EVERY other competitor out there and the People, not the car let me down..... I'm very sad to say BUT, It's SO TRUE :shithappens:
