Just came across this one.

2015 Buick Grand National and GNX: 25 Cars Worth Waiting For 2014–2017 – Future Cars – Car and Driver

Alpha platform. Is this where the SS is headed after Holden stops making them?

According to the blurb, the GNX is only available in Black.

See, the SS has a wide palette of colors available compared to the GNX.

that is actually epic!
just what buick needs. but I can see a lot of it coming from Opel.
Is that a RHD vehicle in the picture?
It kinda looks that way doesn't it!
I'd drive an AWD 400hp Twin-Turbo V6 Buick....at least it will have the option for Manual.

If they're really going to bring back the GNX I really hope the use the ATS coupe as the base, not a big fan of these 2 door models coming back as 4 doors. Yea thats right Charger Im talking about you...

this with all that ^

There was a GNX at my local Pontiac dealer the year it came out. The sticker on it was $24,999. Once the next model year passed the price on the sticker jumped to $49,999. Not sure if anyone every bought it though. At least not at double the price back in the 80's.

The picture of the Grand National cars drag racing was at Beech Bend Park, Bowling Green, Kentucky. My wife and I raced there many times at the yearly GS Nationals. She ran a souped-up 84 GN while I raced my 455 engine 82 Buick Regal wagon. Lots of fun. The 84 GN is long gone, but I still have my wagon (forever)! I have attached a few pictures from our 2003 trip. Definitely going to wait for 2015 to see what happens with the SS and the GN/GNX.

Doesn't the current Regal actually come from Opel already??
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but....All the photos used in this thread of the GNX are rendered versions of the D3 groups ATS in 2013. If you look at the photo galleries in the following link it's the same car, same settings just with photo shop edits...

2013 Cadillac ATS Tuned by D3 - autoevolution

In addition I've followed this car for about a year and a half. The rumor mill has pretty much gone silent on it. If this car comes out it's going to be 2018 or later. It's basically a an ATS-V. GM isn't going to allow their new German eating masterpiece's sales to be canabalized by Buick until the new car smell fades from the ATS-V.
As much as I would like to see this happen (I own an '87 GN), I'm not betting big on this.

However, I'm not sure if anyone noticed the tiny blurb about the GN/GNX in the May 2015 Car and Driver "25 Cars Worth Waiting For!" article, Page 042, lower left in the sidebar.

It states, "PATIENCE: Buick's Grand National and GNX won't show this year but are still under development for introduction within 24 months."

I wonder where Car and Driver is getting this information?!
It would line up with the rollout of the Holden version of Insignia/Commodore (RHD) that will launch in time to cover the end of VF, to support what's left of Holden's market.

Posted earlier today

Following that, the LHD (current Insignia/Regal) would get the updates implemented in the Holden (Commodore?) export model, which it's overdue for anyway....which may or may not include a Regal GN or GNX.

There's already the Regal GS variant, which gets turbo 2-liter, Brembo fronts, Hi Per strut front suspension, and 6-speed manual option, and 19" or 20" wheels. There's just no V6 Turbo offered for Buick via Opel.

The time line mentioned would make sense up against the end of Elizabeth operations. Gotta fill the Australia pipeline first before worrying about Buick.

That is one heck of a long boat ride, but it may not be as far via Atlantic to Oz from European ports that could be used--Med/Suez Canal/Arabian Gulf/Indian Ocean route, but I don't know if that's typical or viable routing with the uncertainty in Middle East.

First year did until they had production in place over here.

I'd still like to see an OPC come here, but the GS with AWD is close enough. Just get a good tune and it's already making the power the 2.8L V6TT is.
