:yahoo: :bowing:

FINALLY got to see it AND test drive it, which i was surprised about - it was sitting outside right where i pulled up.

OK Wow - I knew i'd be impressed, but dayum!. Everything is soooo much nicer than my G8 GT: handling, seat comfort, quality, exhaust note.

I can't believe how much better it handles. Love the paddle shifters and heads up display, though it was a bit distracting and made me a bit dizzy.

The seat comfort is amazing, and controls are laid out well. I like how the window controls are on the door now, as opposed to console like G8 - i always hated that.

I gunned it a couple times, and even though its peppy, it definitely needs a tune. My tuned G8 GT pulls harder and more responsive.

Only (very minor) complaint is the suede on dash, i'm not feeling it. And the backup assist camera doesn't have the colored guide lines for aligning the car, so it's really just to prevent you from backing into something. And of course it sorta looks like a malibu/impala. But that's it really, nothing stood out that was worth bitching about.

I'd give it 5/5 if not for the price and old engine; so 4.5/5

I took a quick vid from my phone, but it didn't come out well - so here's the window sticker lol

and if it were not for the guilt i'd feel for trading my G8 in, i would've bought it right then and there. temptation is a bitch.

I believe you can turn the guide lines off and on in the config settings for the backup camera. I also think the power is under rated in the LS3, when they dyno 360 to the wheels that's rather stout for an A6.

I can't figure out how to turn the lines on either. If anyone knows how please post!

Good review. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with the LS3. This new LT1 has me nervous with it's variable timing and AFM(DOD) which are known weak points in the L99 and L76 (DOD). The LS3 is a tried and true engine and I give it praise...

This is true...which is why I wouldn't need to have one. Working in GM service departments for the past 13 years, the variable timing components, cylinder shutdown components, direct injection components and well as noise complaints from the DI system, the carbon build up it causes in the intake tract because fuel doesn't go past the intake valves and have the cleaning effect on them problems are real, on engines with cylinder shutdown, varible cam timing and DI(most are 4s and V6s)...while the ordinary V8s don't have these problems.

I'll take the regular LS3, thank you.

I wonder how long it will take them to start doing LS3 conversions like they do with the L99's ?

Livernois is already working on a new vette w/LT1 but who wants to go out and buy a new performance car and start spending money on it pulling out the weak valve train components. I did so on my G8's DOD hardware and didn't like it. It was worth it in the long run, but just didn't sit well at first.

Are you saying this is where to turn the lines on? I don't see an option to enable them.

No lines unless it's located somewhere else tried all the setup stuff already. Oh and I Would love to have the lines maybe they are built into camera and we just need to change out the camera from a GM car that has this feature. I would like to know how far away something is that is the reason I use mirrors or look over shoulder.

Turning the Features On or Off

The (P) button near the shift lever
is used to turn on or off the Front
and Rear Parking Assist. The
indicator light next to the button
comes on when the features are on
and turns off when the features
have been disabled.

The Rear Vision Camera (RVC)
parking assist symbols, guidance
lines
, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert
(RCTA) can be turned on or off
through Vehicle Personalization.
See Vehicle Personalization on
page 5-33.

On the SS they are not there maybe on the Zl1 since it's from across the border in Canada.

Not only this but the car also has beeping sensors in the front and rear.
When you are backing out from a parking space, it will beep if there is a car approaching you so you don't back out and Tbone someone. Pretty cool. So your rating should really be more like 4.8/5
yep those worked well when i backed into the parking spot.

4.8 it is ! lol
