Aw man, I must be living right! Just got back from test driving a white SS at Fremont Chevrolet (SF Bay Area). They got 2 in yesterday-one black & one white. The black unit is sold but the white one is available. Have VIN # & info on the white car (sunroof, no spare). Feel free to PM me.

The car exceeded all my expectations. It's a special package & really worth the wait. The interior is very impressive. Especially liked the leather, dash layout, seats & the great feeling steering wheel.

Car sure sounds good & is just a super driver car. My first thought was that this car is really refined but it still retains that "car guy" character.

Took it easy on the drive but did disable the traction control once. Just to see if I could do it, after reading the owner manual;)

Took a few pics but what we've already seen are probably better.

Today has been a great day already.

Yeah, sure lucky. The timing just worked out right. The fella I ordered my car from left my dealer & is now at Fremont Chevrolet. He knew I was real interested in the car & called me yesterday, after their 2 SS's arrived & offered a test drive. Told him thanks but I think I'll take a pass-just joking! Just worked out that the one I drove was a dealer-ordered car & not a sold unit. Their other SS is a sold car.

Also, got to see the new C7. They have one black one & a salesman said it had a 20k ADM on it!

Man, I was just in SF yesterday! That would have been a nice way to end the trip!

how does it compare to g8
To be honest I've seen very few G8's. Seem to remember that some thought the interior wasn't the greatest. No prob there with the SS. That's one thing that really stands out. Got the feeling of quality everywhere. The front seats feel & look great. The leather looks unique & is not slippery or shiny. One of the nicest cockpits I've seen. Was impressed with the layout of everything.

The engine compartment looks pretty much the same as the G8. Wow the sticker says 14 mpg city which is just a 2 above the 09+ CTS-V city mpg.

A few pics from this morning. Thought the tire inflator kit looked kinda neat. First time I've seen one.

You guys score the extra plastic covering that goes over the top of the radiator. That is a HSV fitted item here in Australia.

Tyre inflator crappo thing is standard on SS and SS-V here, although almost all the dealers specify the steel or alloy spare. SS-V Redline scores the full size alloy wheel. Honestly if you can pickup an SS with the full size alloy, go for it. Its a long way to Elizabeth South Australia if you do a rim in and need a replacement. :)

The irony of course being that the SS alloy wheels are made in the USA. I kid you not.
