GM is considering adding more variants of the Chevy SS to the US market if there is enough demand for the sports sedan. The Chevy SS would have to meet its target of selling 2,000-3,000 units per year in order for GM to go ahead with the production of SS variants.

No word on what these extra SS models would be, but the Holden Commodore on which it is based is available in 455 and 580 horsepower variants with both manual and automatic transmissions. The Commodore also comes in a number of body styles, including a sport wagon and an "ute" pickup truck.

If GM decides to go ahead with more SS variants, they will likely arrive on our shores no later than 2015.

A misleading statement by todays copycat paraphrasing "journalists".

The exact quoute was:

Fitzpatrick said that Chevrolet would definitely be interested in at least looking into bringing over the manual transmission and more powerful versions.

If we can get a performance version of the sedan available from Chevy under chevy for a premium, something good enough, will be sweet. Nothing better than some true high performance sedan under warranty from the dealer :D
Did you see what Dodge announced with the 3 Stages of Scat Packs for the Charger RT & Challenger RT, including cold air intake, catback exhaust, tune, headers, heads and a cam all under warranty? Pretty cool.

They could call it the SS LSA

Agreed, but then it will be priced close to that of the Caddy CTS-V and most would likely spend their money on the Caddy, however I like the G8/SS body better than the CTS. Definitely more room to work under the hood in the G8/SS compared to the CTS-V.
