Not SS related but I know there's lots of guys on here with Gen 5 Camaros. Looks like GM is going to start selling OEM performance goodies from dealers.

You will be able to pick and choose goodies from the various Camaro trims. For example you can buy ZL1 brake kits for your SS or V6.

Chevy also brought back the COPO program but only in name, and severely neutered. They offer a COPO hood, from the COPO Camaro drag car and COPO logoed gauges. When they said COPO i was expecting an option box for 427, steel wheels and a bench seat. Ah well, those were the days...

thanks for posting this, it's nice to see this stuff since the next camaro will be on a alpha platform, in a way it's a look at what the next gen SS might have, since it too is supposed to go Alpha
Is that confirmed for the new camaro to be on the alpha or is it still in the rumor mill?

no its pretty much confirmed from what I've been reading.

Here's from GM Authority:

With the information we have at hand, we know that the sixth-generation Camaro will indeed be smaller and much lighter than today’s big-bodied boulevard beast by utilizing the all-new Alpha platform and all that implies. Yes, this is the very same platform that GM plans on using for several Cadillac models, including the ATS and new CTS. The result of which will put the Camaro closer to the size of the original model, while making it more proportionate to its competitors such as the Ford Mustang
It makes too much sense for the SS to move over to Alpha, if the CTS is on Alpha the SS needs to be as well...

I've been trying to get the word out on here, from the beginning, that Cadillac's Alpha Chassis will be shared with the 2015 Camaro.
Alpha is lightweight and the first chassis to beat BMW in head to head testing. Alpha is going to be a huge step forward from the overweight G8 and SS Sedan.
I only hope GM does a 'sedan" version of the 6th Gen Camaro so we can have a 2015 "Alpha SS Sedan" just like the G8/SS Sedan is actually a sedan version of the 5th Gen Camaro coupe....and vice versa.

2015 Alpha > 2014 SS Sedan
LT1 > 2014 SS Sedan
TR6070 > 2014 SS Sedan

yes sir, will give credit where its due, this is the first place I heard the SS and the Camaro are expected to make the jump to Alpha. Although I have been hearing GM is having difficulty shortening the platform for the ATS coupe and you have to imagine that's the same issue facing the '16 Camaro...

If GM does this then I can actually credit them for doing something right under the Chevy badge when it comes to performance. The Current camaro is good, not great, same goes for the SS. But the Camaro is more of a win.

Alpha platform would be a BIG game changer for them.
