What engines do you guys know and/or think future Alpha platform vehicles will be getting?

To start, I believe the new 2.5-liter ecotec or a version of it from the 2014 Impala will end up in an Alpha coupe.

I was reading on GM's website the following...

190 horsepower (140 kW) and 180 lb.-ft. of torque (250 Nm) – about 12 percent more horsepower and 16 percent more torque than the current Ecotec 2.4L, while offering estimated highway fuel economy of more than 30 mpg (final fuel economy numbers are pending).

Kinda sad that such a big 4cylinder engine puts out 190HP but it does get good fuel economy which sort of makes up for the power. after all someone buying a 4cylinder isn't looking to be a 1/4 mile king.

if it broke the 200HP mark i'd be a bit more happy.

4.3 EcoTec V6 from the 2014 Sierra would be badass in the alpha platform camaro, sure can make up for a lack of a V8.
