Holden's V8s are outselling all its other model variants by an order of magnitude, and export demand created by the likes of you guys with the 'Chevy' SS and the Gen-F VXR8 in the UK is superb. Driveline change confirmed and scheduled for Series II within 12mths...

I suspect future production schedules for the LT1 did not coincide with the release of the VF. The higher than expected demand for V8's could have resulted in production bottlenecks. In that context, sticking with the LS3 looks like the right decision.
The LT1 provides a very good upgrade path and I am sure Holden's engineers are going to work today to work on exactly that. After all, the LS3 will be phased out.

Thats very possible, plus there's probably a lot of R&D that needs to go into putting this engine in the SS. They cant just drop it in their like that.

I understand the LT1 has different mount points so a fair whack of engineering required, and, as mentioned, probably in progress.

Normally HSV get new engines first, but if all Commodores are built with a revised engine bay it will be LT1 for both. I wonder what HSV will do to differentiate?
