Has anyone found a source for floor mats yet? I like to pull out the original ones and use a set of spares to keep the originals nice. I haven't checked with the Chevy parts dept. yet, and I suppose that should be my first move.
Often I'll put in a set of cheap generic carpeted ones, but this car deserves something nicer. On Chevy's website for accessories they show a link for custom mats. Anyone tried to order those yet?
Thanks.

Last time I was at the dealer, a week ago, they had no SS inventory in and were 2-6weeks (they don't know when it will come in) from getting any. I would really like some matts with SS on them and a Chevy bow tie.

Mine are plastic. I'm up north but don't drive mine in the winter, but do like these since if my shoes get wet, they keep all the liquid contained. Carpeted ones definitely look better though.

Why do you want to get other floor mats just to keep the ones you like pristine? If you like them so much why not keep them in the vehicle? Never understood this about people.
I like to keep the original mats clean so that when / if I sell a vehicle they can be put in to give it a fresher look. I never said I like the originals, in fact I'd rather have something a bit different, so I ordered a set of Lloyds mats through Summit Racing. They can add SS logos (as well as others) in various colors.

This is what I use. I think they are the best available.

Welcome To Cocomats.com

If you go to the site there is a video of Jay Leno explaining them.

They were very popular in 60's luxury German and Italian cars.

They last for years and they are all custom made. Someone may have to send the originals for a pattern since the car is so new.

I used this stuff for my Yukons:

http://www.staples.com/Apache-Mills-Olefin-Carpet-Mat-4-x-6-Charcoal/product_595243

Comes in many colors, sizes and manufacturers.

Made a template, cut it a bit big with a utility knife and tweaked to fit good. Don't cut in car it is messy because of the loose fibers and needs a good vacuum with an upright before and after cutting. You will need to change the vac bag after!

Used dark grey for my black interior. Holds water, dirt and pine needles like nobody's business. Shake out regularly and vacuum with the upright once in a while.

Take it out and you never would never know feet were ever on the factory carpet.

And the best part is it looks as good or better than the factory carpet!!!

The smooth pile is better than the tighter piled ribbed for holding the water and dirt.

Who's going to donate their car so they can digitize the floor pans??? They just started making the "Lazer Fit" compartment mats for the 2013 Malibu. It was worth the wait.

Has anyone confirmed that the G8 floor mats won't fit? Why reinvent the wheel if you don't need to. If someone is in the Cincy area with a SS, I'd be more than happy to assist with determining whether or not my weathertechs will fit your car.

I talked to some Chevy reps and OEM stuff for the SS (or Stingray for that matter) will not be coming in till at least early next year. Considering it's almost 2014, it will be a bit before we start to see performance parts and so forth... For now, lets take it easy breaking our cars in :)
