Guys do your SS's come with plain sill protectors already?

The reason I ask is if so DO NOT use a flat head screw driver to pry up the factory fitted ones before fitting these. The factory sill protectors are actually fitted into the moulded plastic and there is not enough room to fit the screw driver head into the gap to pry it up. I know as I did this myself putting on the exact same SS sill protectors and I marked the plastic trim :(

What I found worked best is two things;-

1.) Open your doors and let the sun get them nice and warm and use the blade of a kitchen knife to pry them up

2.) Use a very thin but strong piece of plastic and do the same thing

Mate be very careful. Someone that will remain nameless left his car out in the sun with the doors open for the sill protectors to warm up making it easier to lift up and burnt his hand on the stainless steel when he went to touch it

Yes.
Stock Chevy SS Sill Plates below.

Thanks Chris

Ok my Northern hemisphere cousins, here are my photos with mine on.
Please take note of the last photo of how quick a flat head screw driver can damage the black plastic surround. A pocket knife blade, fishing line or dental floss would be the best tools to lift the corners up with to pry the factory sill protectors off.

i would take it one step further and actually actually use these

you can't go wrong with them and any person whom takes apart their car should have them. i have used these so much i am on my second set.

don't be cheap or stupid people and mar up your car by using a screwdriver or other metal pry tool.

All...I received my SS Sill plates from CP and began the removal process..I noticed as I began to pull up on one end retainer clips were seen attached and wondering if they hold plastic molding onto the door sill?..The reason I ask is the new SS Sill plates do not have any retainer clips?? So I stopped before really getting into the process..Of course now this end with the retainer clip won't fully attach as it's sprung..Did anyone have this issue? Also dealer noted since having the clips risk breaking the molding? Comments or suggestions?

Thanks - Travis

Everything plastic including clips stays attached to the car.
Use gentle heat (as per instructions above) to loosen the backing glue between the original metal plate and all plastics below.
The new stainless steel sill plate inserts have no clips on the back of them because you are just replacing one glued metal insert strip with another similar item.

Thanks CP...Yes there are clips that need to stay as to hold the plastic door sill but the factory sill plates had so much glue on them the clips came out along with the sill plates as I found out...I've got them installed but the front sill plates are slightly larger by approx 1-2mm than factory fitment; but still looks good..
