Good thing I didn't bother making a how-to when I did my conversion. Can't beat the manufacturer's instructions.

disconnecting harness

Last post here was in May, but I'm right in the middle of this and am stuck on getting the fascia harness disconnected from the the vehicle harness - #3 on page 1. Yes, page 1.

I think, if you pull down on the red release pin, the two connectors should just pull apart - Just want to confirm before I put some real force on it and possibly snap something. I would think the red release would negate using a screwdriver inserted from the top, to release the clips?

Any input from those that have worked with these connectors would be appreciated! Even with the wheel off, I don't think I'm going to be able to get two hands up in here to work on this.

Thanks

wow so the whole bumper has to come off?

doesn't look too hard -- i just hope these bumpers line up better than the ones did on the GTO going back on.

Can't tell mine was ever off! It's not that hard of a job. The electrical connector is the biggest pain.

No clue on timing, but we are having a "fun" time trying to remove the chrome ring from the factory grille. Any tips/help would be nice before we decide to just say "To **** with" the bow-tie grille and destroy it to get the chrome ring off ;)

Yeah, we followed those and unfortunately the only option we had was to cut the black off the chrome at this point. The clips are so close together it was difficult to get the leverage necessary, so hubby just cut the plastic clips off.

Did mine today...Getting the chrome trim removed from the stock grille is definitely the most difficult aspect of the job.
Is there a tool made (by GM or Holden) that would facilitate the clip removal process?

I bought this trim removal kit from amazon. Works great for getting the leverage you need on the clips to release them. I was able to remove all of the chrome trim pieces except the window trim without breaking any of the tabs. Was still a major PITA but the little pry tools helped.

Help

For the life of me, I can not figure out this bane-of-my-existence connector. I can't figure out how to get it apart, or even, where it comes apart. Can someone please tell me how to get this :stac: thing apart?

Left work early this afternoon to have time to do this. What a waste. :shithappens:
