Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but has anyone been able to remove/install the DRL surrounds without removing the front fascia? It's probably more of a PITA, but is it possible?

Note for 2016 Owners

For 2016 the change in the DRL surround means the directions change. I didn't have to take the whole DRL body like they did when they were fog lights. I was able to get to the clips for the Chrome pieces without removing the whole DRL body.

Sorry I didn't take pics, but you can get to the six clips on the lower portion of the chrome piece from the back, as well as the two straight guide pieces all the way at the inside edge. I used the 'credit card' method (you cut up a credit card into small strips, open the clip with a small screw driver or something else, and slide the credit card strip in to hold the clip open.). So you get the bottom six clips and the two guide pieces 'open' with the credit cards, and you can pull out the chrome surround. The two clips on the top part are still connected, but if you pull out and up I was able to get them out without breaking them. Putting in the new pieces is as easy as clicking them into place.

Save a couple of steps not having to take the whole DRL body out, but you still have to take the whole front fascia down so it's a lot of work regardless.

Hope this helps, good luck.

I'm sure it's doable if you lift the car off the ground far enough that you can at least lay under the car. I highly doubt you can do it with the wheels on the ground.

Sorry to bump old thread, anyone been able to do this on a 14/15 without having to pull the wheels off?
I did it without removing the bumper, but did remove the wheels. I don't see how it's possible with the wheels on, but I think a few guys have managed. I've been told that removing the bumper is the easiest solution, but I can't confirm that as I haven't removed the bumper.
