I've posted about this car previously, which remains unsold at Bill Holt Chevrolet in Canton GA

Here's the dealer listing

This car has 388 miles on it (put on car by the dealer owner), and was built 9/13 - I took the pictures the day it arrived, which was late November.

This is also the car that I've mentioned previously as having aftermarket tinted windows and a carbon-fiber "wrap" inlay in the F/R bowties.

This car has also been tuned by Vengeance Racing in Cumming GA - not sure how that gets handled in the case of any warranty issues. There was a copy of the dyno sheet in the car, and here are the numbers (no idea how they compare with others):

Stock HP 331.4 TQ 334

Tuned HP 369 TQ 377 (otherwise stock, no changes to exhaust or intake)

That's all I can tell about this car--apparently a buyer changed his mind after ordering the car, and so far no one else has come forward to buy it. It sat outside for several months while the showroom was being remodeled to GM "spec", but is inside now.

IMO the warranty is going to be on the dealer's dime, seeing they turned an untitled car over to a shop for a performance tune. I'm pretty sure GM won't back a new car drive train warranty on it.

That's what I was thinking, too...I also wonder how much the changes the dealer made to the car might impact it's appeal to buyers. There's no sticker on the car to indicate any add-ons, and I don't know if the dealer listing for the car reflects any up-charges.

There is a second SS (also black) in transit with a $47170 sticker, so I'm guessing there is probably a $1500 "pack" on the car in stock, or it's meant to represent the work that was done (assuming the dealer's commitment to stand behind powertrain-related warranty issues).

For a car that's been coveted by many, to find it still in stock over 3 months later is puzzling--but this dealer sells a large number of trucks, so....

If I were buying new, I'd rather get a bone stock one off their showroom floor and work from there. But that's just me.

I'm kinda along this train of thought as well.

They dyno-tune means nothing to me.....since I'd be doing mods that would nullify the tune done to a stock SS.

About the only thing I could do with the tuned PCM is swap it to another SS owner for cash + his PCM......

Nothing against this DEALER but why did they have this car tuned? Was it a Selling point?

Its like buying a used car that has a **** load performance parts on it. You would like to think they didn't abuse it but you know it got beat up.

I would probably look else where when buying new. Just my 2 cents....

Them driving it hard for 400 miles saves you the trouble of breaking it in......... :lol2:

I really can't adequately respond to the comments since my last post in this thread....I don't know the dealer (owner Bill Holt) personally, but I know he's a car guy, everything he drives is black, and other than test drives and the trip to Vengeance for tuning (maybe 25 miles each way) the mileage now on the car was put there by Bill Holt himself--he doesn't strike me as a guy who would abuse or "beat up" a new, un-titled car.

Frankly, I was more surprised that it was left sitting outside for the past couple of months--in our cold/wet winter this year--rather than kept inside somewhere--one day in the past month, I was at the dealership and noticed that the rotors were all rusty, meaning the car had not even been test driven for awhile.

I have no idea if the tune was meant to be a selling point, or if BH found the performance below his expectations or what he is used to, from driving a new LT1 C7 Corvette, among other vehicles....

I understand that at this price point, expectations are high--I don't want to suggest anyone is behaving like a prima donna, or that the Corvette ownership "influence" among the Forum members is showing through - I've never owned one, and don't own an SS, either, but I'd like to think I would be inclined to focus on the positives rather than the negatives, which is not always the case with first owners and those who pay the freight/absorb the inevitable depreciation.

No names, and no intention to step on any toes--TTC6 (or whoever he was) has left the building. I'm just making observations!

Houston, I can't answer that....just like I can't answer on these:

$51859

$51670

$51000

$50660

and there are plenty more....at least Bill Holt is not committing outright RAPE--something was added to the car of some perceived value. The right buyer might come along and agree to pay that much--that's the gamble the dealer(s) take in pricing a vehicle above sticker.

No one here would try to buy this particular car (at Bill Holt Chevy), most likely, unless it was the last car available nationwide, I suppose. That may also explain why it's still in dealer inventory rather than sitting in someone's garage, just like those priced above $50K posted above. When these car don't sell, the dealers will eventually have to come off of the number(s) they "want" and get real. In the meantime, they might get lucky!

Dyno tune is no more than $500. How can they justify $1500 over MSRP??
It's the first year of a fairly limited production hi-performance care.

I've seen time and again where some dealers mark up such cars by $500 to $2000.

The post by Bill (Navy Lifer) illustrates this with all those cars being marked up by $4-5 thousand.....

Comparatively speaking.....a $1500 mark-up is kinda mild.

The dealer I bought my pbm from has a twin on the floor.
He sold me mine for credit union pricing which is under msrp and I assume would do the same for the next buyer.
He also gave me what I wanted for my 2008 tahoe z71 and 2001 mercedes clk55amg in trade on it.

I've had some experience with Vengeance Racing and my modified G8 GT. I would advise anyone considering this car to run far far away. Their tuner is both expensive and dangerous.

In my search near me, all SSes are listed for MSRP. Some are listed for Invoice.
