If you're referring to the Dubai police cars, i think it's money well spent. Guys their get crazy with their supercars putting peoples lives at risk. Plus Dubai is shitting money, so they can probably easily justify this purchase.

Most of the Australian police forces have a few halo cars in their fleet. They are usually on loan / donated by the manufacturer. Australian police forces are state based, so they are quite large, each force services 3 - 8 million people.

The halo cars are usually only for publicity, not used for active pursuits

The last time I saw and heard a HSV in person was vacationing in Melbourne back in 2007. Also attended V8 supercars, on Philip Island. So happy to see us stately guys finally get a much needed upgraded version of the G8.

Have you seen the uncensored version, it has a scene in a valley with max throwing the young biker a hacksaw, just before the fireball in the background when he is leaving, their are a few other nasty scenes removed as well.

Well, i have the dvd and digital copy from itunes and yes that scene is in it. Freaking great. However i didnt find that as horrifying as i did of the scene with the couple driving the 59 Chevy four door.

I remember when i was younger, back in the mid 80s, mad max playing on tv. I always thought the movie was a bit strange back then bc the voices didnt seem to match up with the actors on the screen. Come to find out, in the US they dubbed over the actors bc of what was considered "strong australian accents" with american accents. Totally ruined the movie. I was so thankful to finally get a copy of the dvd with both the original voices and the US voiceovers. Pretty interesting switching from one to the other.

And another interesting thing, about 6 years ago i saw an actual replica of the Interceptor driving down the road in Louisburg, North Carolina(bumphuc). Side zoomies and all. I did a double take and then flipped the **** out. I Couldnt believe it. It was a True RHD Falcon XB. I did my best to turn around and tried to catch up with it but i never saw it again.

I was referring to the Australian one. Yes I know Dubai is oozing with oil money. I still find it wasteful even such. One call to a rich oil sheik and their department is probably set for life as you say.

Typically these cars do not cost the departments anything, they are supplied by the manufacturer.
