I had alerted all of you about an Autocross at the new Dominion Raceway on their 2 mile road course.
Road Course | at Dominion Raceway & Entertainment
Three of us (14SS#4446, 16PB6MT and the old Trashman) and our highly skilled pit crew attended and had a great time. Just wish more of you had attended. The course was great (I liked it) and 14SS#4446 was hitting 94 mph at the trap. The weather was great. We got five chances to embarraSS ourselves (Lucky no one did).

Here are a few pictures of the day:

Friday night Drivers Meeting.

Third Place (16PB6MT

Second Place (Scooter Trash)

First Place (14SS#4446)

Trophy Presentation (SS Cup)

Pit Crew (Hard at Work)

14SS#4446 was presented the SS Cup. This is not his to keep unless he keeps winning. If and when someone beats him he must pass the SS Cup on to the winner and so it goes.
Next time lets get some more SS's in the Mid-Atlantic Region out there to get that cup away from 14SS#4446.

Someone said they had never seen an SS, now there are three of them in one place.

Well I didn't mess with my GoPro for this, but some shots were taken by my Pit Crew.

Larry (Scooter Trash) with a cone stuck on his roof.

John (16PBMT)

Mike (14SS#4446)

Pit Crew and Photographers

Fun time was had by all. Larry was by far the most prepared. He had researched the restaurants and cut out pretty numbers from tinting and prepared a trophy. He didn't pull out a kitchen sink from his trunk but had most everything else. He even squeegeed my windows at the hotel when the dew was so heavy it looked like it had rained. We hope John gets his gas pedal fixed so he can use full throttle. :p

Mike,
Now that was just mean picking on the rookie like that, it was his first cross and first track day.
Not everyone is as crazy as you and I are. Some people actually have common sense.

I actually upset my computer on the second lap when I drifted one turn with the traction control still on. It made the flashers come on and I couldn't turn them off. I even restarted the car twice after the run and no luck. Then I started it up and held down the traction control button until everything was off and then I could turn off the flashers. Whew, I thought I was going to have to drive home with them on.

Actually with the way you drive, driving with the 4 ways on all the time to alert drivers may be a good thing:devil

I have a spy shot of Scooters trunk at the hotel. Seen here is him checking his tire pressures in the dark. He is wearing a flashlight on his head and has his nitrogen tank beside him. (All from his trunk.) Yes, it is blury, it was taken in near dark conditions from the seventh floor window of my room.

I found the issue with my gas pedal -- it's attached to my daily driver (did I mention that I need this car to get to work every day).

I might have spent all morning today looking at 1st gen rx-7's for sale (using Google Incognito, of course)

Huh thats interesting how that was setup. Not your usual autocross for sure.

It was great, no cones, no work details. Two 25 car groups. Group one start 08:00 - 10:00. Group two 10:00 - 12:00.
Line up and race, line up and race, line up and race. It worked out to 5 runs for each heat.
Never want to go back to tight parking lots with a million cones after this experience.

I was a little concerned about the racing line being about 6 inches from a concrete barrier. Cones are a little easier on a car. But it was fun and a little faster than the average auto-x. I had a surprise on my last run when I had accidentally hit a shifter paddle while lining up and didn't know it. I found out when it was time for second gear. LOL.

Checking tire pressures with nitrogen? But I thought that was magic tire pixie dust that never ever infinity needs adjustment because of larger molecules less temperature sensitive magic fairy blessings.?. :)
