New here, just started to look for something fun to drive a few days ago as a daily driver along with my truck and ran across what looks to be a cool car in the Chevy SS. Never seen one yet in person, good or bad daily driver option?

Thanks MillaMilla! Kind of pumped to find one near by to check out
Not a problem at all! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! I'm on track to have put at least 20k miles on mine since I purchased it in May of last year. It will likely be more than 20k, the way it's looking!

Great! I will. hopefully it's been 20k miles of enjoyment, hoping to find a manual, been way to long since I've had to use a clutch!
For the most part! 🙂 They are great cars! Mine is a 6 speed, and it's the first stick I've ever owned even though I grew up driving them. For what it's worth, 2014s are Auto only.

Mine has been my daily since I bought new in spring 2017. It has 39,000 miles now, which isn't a lot for 6 years, but it's been incredibly versatile and reliable. Real world fuel economy with the manual has been consistently 1-2 mpg higher than the EPA sticker even with "spirited" driving.

I bought mine new for a DD and ended up driving through 26 States and into Ontario during my four years and 77K+ miles of ownership. Only reason I sold it was I retired and we moved near an Amish community where driving conditions needed to be slow and sane… and I needed to reduce the driveway by one vehicle, so I ended up keeping the truck.

I wrote up some of our trips - here's one from when we hit 30K miles.

Mine has been my DD from day one since Mar 2020. After 25K miles I have had no major issues (knocks on wood) just your basic car maintenance/repairs (tires, sway bar end links, wipers, trunk struts, light bulbs). Even as my daily I still enjoy every moment I get to drive it around town.

While my '15 is not a daily driver, my '14 was. It was a fantastic daily driver for 15 months and performed impeccably during that time. 100° + summer days and below 0° winter days with snow covered roads never saw the SS parked, stranded or stuck. The SS is a great daily and makes the drive to work enjoyable and the drive home anxiously anticipated.

Bought my 14 in the summer of last year, DD it in the mid atlantic and it is a perfect daily for me. Love to drive it, don't mind scuffs on it and it performs well. Issues mine had were related to poor ownership prior and NOT the cars fault. Audio system feels a little dated but if you're like me and coming from all 2012 cars and before....it'll feel like an upgrade lol!

73k miles of daily driving since new. Great combination of comfortable, athletic and FUN. Highly reliable in my experience, and I'm just now getting to my first major service (brakes) outside of regular fluid changes and tires.

Bought mine last May and daily'd it until I parked it for the winter (want to save it from the salt - plus there's something to be said with how fast a sporty summer car feels in spring after spending all winter in the Tahoe!) I WFH and drop off kids at school only about 5 minutes away, so didn't rack up a ton of miles, but took a few longish trips in it (including driving it home from NC to VT) and enjoyed it!

Good luck finding some to check out and hopefully make one yours!
