Current Taurus SHO Owner but LURKING!

Hi All. Mine is a 2010 SHO that I have since new with 68000 miles that has been a great car. But we have a 2009 Corvette convertible and I absolutely adore that car. The sound of a pushrod V8 cannot be duplicated. I've been waiting for this car to arrive and I drove one at my dealer the day it arrived! Trying to justify the change but I may have to follow the heart. Looking forward to joining discussions only when I need info or can offer good comments.

How did the SS stack up to your SHO on your test drive?
A co-worker modded his SHO to over 500 WHP. Those respond well to mods too. Plus they have the traction advantage with AWD.

Interesting. What did he do? Since they are already TT.

I'm old school and really like the feel of the rear drive chassis. The SHO is a really great car but it's a tough comparison since they feel so different. I was really impressed with the cornering of the SS and how stable it felt over rough roads. While good, the SHO just doesn't have the same feel.

I have not drove a SHO but a limited and that model felt like my dads card (I am 28), just not sporty. Is that how the SHO is?

I did see this in an article by TopSpeed...
2014 Ford Taurus SHO
"The silly thing about Ford’s lack of updates to this potent and ultra-strong engine design is that the twin turbo’s are ripe for an ECU upgrade, a better boost manager, different internal turbine vanes, a better air-box... the list goes on.
All of these things seem like they would take a DIY guy about a week to decide on and install, leading to an easy 500 horsepower for perhaps $1,500 in modified parts. Heck, even a $300 ECU re-flash could liberate at least 75 more horsepower in 10 minutes".

Change is easy as this:

Lighter car.
Nicer interior, and roomier at that.
Better sight lines (no postage stamp sized windows)

And, you're not driving a Ford. :)
