I just ordered (Tuesday, 12/10) and received (Friday, 12/13) the Front Blackout Kit and black upper door trim from Crazy Paul in AU. I was a little reluctant to send money to a guy named Crazy Paul who I didn’t know and who lived in Australia. But I did and he did a great job – he was better informed and more reliable than my local dealership. We had a couple of email conversations and everything went exactly according to plan. I paid a little extra to have the shipment expedited and I owed UPS $20 for customs (which Paul had told me about). I highly recommend Paul to anyone who’s considering blackout trim.

I bought the black gutter trim from the dealership (Paul’s recommendation) and even though I ordered it at the same time, it hasn’t arrived yet. I thought about getting the upper door trim from the dealership as well but they quoted me a price for ONE piece that was more than Paul quoted for ALL FOUR pieces (WT…?). The price of the black gutter trim from the dealership was just what Paul had mentioned in his earlier posts.

I’ll post pictures as soon as I get the new trim on my silver SS. I may wait a little bit replace the gutter and window trim but the other trim will go on right away.

I can vouch for Crazy Paul. He's made numerous transactions with folks on the G8 forums and I've never heard a complaint. He is a stand-up guy, great to work with, and has an amazing depth of knowledge on these Holden vehicles. If you're looking for a hard to find part, he can point you in the right direction, if he doesn't already have it available.

I have personally purchased items from him and every experience was 100% positive.

OK. I know I have asked for this info before, but I can't find it via search. Can someone post the link to what stuff I can get from Crazy Paul? And how to contact him? Thanks. Seems like he should have his own sub-forum by now.

All but one of my blackout parts came from CP and he is by far cheaper and easier to deal with than a local dealer. He ships stuff from the other side of the planet and it usually arrives in 3 days. Crazy indeed!

In the future California, blackout trim and black cars will be illegal because they increase global warming even when the vehicle is parked!
So get the blackout stuff while it's still CARB legal.
Also, all new cars and new roofs and new pavement will be required to be white white white.

And hopefully the VW diesel vehicle owners will be required to endure public flogging each time they re-register their cars.

OK Crazy Paul, is there any demand for whiteout trim, or am I the first HW owner whose car is not quite white enough?
(I ask you sir, because if you don't understand my motivation, nobody will.)

Soo.... Is there such a thing as white window tint? No way.
But I remember it was possible to get blue tint back in the day by using many layers, very expensive. Blue tint on a HW SS might be nice?

Is there a price list somewhere? Or an estimated price for the items?

Email him directly. He's very quick to respond.

OK. Wil do. I just don't know what I want yet. So I thought I'd come up with some option on pricing for different pieces.

I actually found my old email conversation with him. Take it with a grain of salt, as the prices may have changed, but it should at least give you a ballpark:

A) Phantom Black Upper & Lower Grille surround Set US$450 shipped.

B) Phantom Black pair of DRL surrounds Set US$110 shipped.

C) Phantom Black pair of Fender Vents US$80 shipped
2014 Chevy SS Black Fender Vents

A) & B) Shipped Together Total US$530 shipped & Insured

A) , B), & C) Shipped Together Total US$596 shipped & Insured
Keep in mind, this was only for the blackout trim pieces, not the Holden conversion for the upper grille. Hopefully he doesn't mind me publishing the price! At this time, I only have the fender vents - got those thrown in when I bought the car. I think I'm going to eventually get the DRL surrounds and probably call it a day.

OK. Yeah I basically want to get all of the above plus the window trim pieces. I'm not going to do the Holden conversion. I like the bow ties.
