I have driven both. I liked the 2012 300 SRT. But I could not justify even trading my 2011 wrx for it. It is quick in a straight line but is numb in a lot of ways. SS is far more planted and precise. Straight lines are fun but are not the real engaging performance category for all car guys. SRT felt bloated and big.

The folks on the 300c forum were none too pleased with this review.

I've driven a 300 SRT a few times and I really liked it, but it simply does not have the handling prowess of the SS. I used to have a Magnum R/T which I loved. My brother liked my Magnum so much he bought a 300 SRT so I drove that a few times. Now my brother has a Challenger SRT and I have an SS. The SRTs are a little faster in a straight line but if there is a curve in the road I'm pretty sure the SS would smoke any of them.

Exactly, the SRT handles horribly.....Only a Mopar head would say there is even a close resemblance in handling compared to a Commodore with FE3, in fact the FE2 handles better than the SRT's.

In a straight line the SRT probably wins by a hair but any road course wouldn't even be a competition.
