It does sound a bit on the weak side when compared to the rest of the V8 engines from other car makers out these days. I'd like to see how the stock exhaust setup is configured, chances are it may be VERY Restrictive.

Throw a straight pipe on this beast and problem SOLVED.

Australian nanny laws do not permit an exhaust to be above a certain db level. These restrictions do not apply to the Chevy SS, which, like the G8 GXP, will be considerably louder than the Aussie counterpart.
However, the rocking rumble at idle is gone and NVH has been dramatically improved. WOT may be the only time you hear it (without mods).

Listen to the engine note of this Commodore VF SSV, tell me your not longing for something a little more throaty from the SS... quite disappointing IMO

2014 Holden VF Commodore SS V engine sound and 0-100km/h - YouTube
The car of course sounds fine with an aftermarket exhaust plus you guys need to add the extra 0.2 litres of displacement your SS will come with as the one in the vid is a 6 litre.

And here in Aus we have DUMB ASS sound laws even though a Harley you can hear from a kilometre away is perfectly legal apparently.

And it sounded like they were using the microphone from the camera and not a decent quality omnidirectional one

don't know about sa but in vic i had a cop pull up beside me at the lights one night on the honda 750 magna, no baffle tubes, i got an EPA inspection letter a week later, tubes had to go back in for the test, after i passed they told me the harley shop rents street legal pipes to harley owners just to pass the test and swap them back after they pass.

becouse their is no fine unless you fail they just keep running load systems and give cops the finger after each test.
